Nakamichi CD-45Z
As far as I know this head unit only has one set of pre-outs. I have this head unit and in the past have only had one amp hooked up to it. As far as I know and as my friend informed me, I can only hook up one amp to the head because it only has one set of pre-outs. Is this true? Please say it aint so cause that means I'm gonna need a new head unit or I'm gonna have to get rid of my brand new 2 Channel amp for a 4 channel so I can run my two coaxs and subs. If my question got lost in there it is, Can I hook up more than one amp to the Nakamichi CD-45Z headunit?
What is a line converter? Will this decrease the power in either the amps or the head unit? It is a commonly used method? I don't want to just take the easy way out.
it changes you from speaker to RCA, I havnt heard anything bad about them, but hopefully someone with more experience can give some insight. This seems to me like a good option, why get rid of that hi-end head unit?
Your amp may have a pass-thru so you can run another set of RCAs from the first amp to the other. All the amps I've came across recently had pass-thru RCA outputs.
After reading their website, it appears that the head should have 3 sets of outs.
From their site:
HEAD UNIT FEATURES
• Subwoofer preamp output (RCA)
• 4ch/4V Preamplifier output (RCA)
Are you sure that it's a 45z? I'm seeking this head, and I have a current one with three 4v outs, so if you are interested in getting rid of the Nak, let me know!!
Using a line output converter on that headunit is almost sacreligious.
Could you do me a huge favor, can you tell me what the impedance is on those outputs? I've been searching everywhere for that spec, and can't find it.
