I wonder if anyone has switched to a better or other wing. I want to see some pics......and please don´t post pics of Rs with Mugen spoilers.....Ißm sure everybody know how this one look. (I´m sure there will be a pic of a Mugen wing equipped R soon, cause of my last sentence
)
)
There's a kid in my neighborhood with a PY 2001 ITR. It has a wing that matches the style of the stock wing but sits about four inches higher than the roof of the car.
It really does look like the proverbial shopping cart.

Why would you want to spend money to replace your wing with one that's ugly and doesn't have any significant performance benefit?

A lot of people with that wing say they can definitely feel a difference in braking as well as drag as it affects top end.

My ITR equiped with a gsr wing for the street, Stock ITR wing goes back on at the track. http://www.teamtoilet.com/floaters/matt.htm

front wheel drive cars need SOOOO much downforce in the rear let me tell you
wingless all the way!
wingless all the way!
Ask Jason (Darth VadeR) how useless the wing on a FWD car is. he did back-to-back runs wingless, and with the wing, and said he felt a huge difference. smartass.
edit - thanks Reid couldn't have said it better myself.

I'm sorry about my previous comment, the bigger the wing the better
Mattj
Yup.
Do you honestly feel that ALL rear wings/spoilers on Integras (and other FWD cars, but let's only keep this discussion to Integra wings) have absolutely no effect on maintaining stability and preventing lift in the rear?
At the next track event I will run wingless for the sake of trying both methods.
Another example of your experiance on the track
On a track I'll take the experienced folks oppinion that a wing does help but is it anything other then cosmetic for street? I just prefer the wingless "look" better on DC2s and was just messing with yall
Here is Peter Cunningham's non-functional wing
And don't get me started on his stickers...
I have run both my ITR and GSR wings on the track, Gratton in MI. At the end of the 130 mph straight there is a fast right hand corner, aprox 60+ ish mph with the ITR wing in place the car feels much more stable during braking and going into the corner than when the gsr wing was on. Maybe in my head but, seat of the pants it felt more stable.
It only make sense that it would help a front driver in braking zones where the light *** end wants to come of the ground with the possability of locking up a rear wheel (non abs cars)

I know Peter Cunningham. I've ridden with Peter Cunningham. Here are the facts about the wing. For Peter Cunningham's race car, it can make a difference of maybe a tenth of a second per lap. In racing, that's a big difference.
Now, let's use Mattj as an example because he has a lot of track experience and he's a pretty quick driver. (We've driven at the track together.) I can guarantee you that Peter Cunningham can get into Mattj's car, and drive around your typical two-minute-lap track, and drive laps at least 10, and maybe 20, seconds per lap faster than Mattj.
What does THAT tell you about the difference that a spoiler can make? It tells you that even the most experienced drivers here are not using anywhere near 80 percent of the capacity of our cars - and that thing that is going to give Peter Cunningham another tenth of a second per lap, isn't going to mean diddly squat to the rest of us because we're not using all of the capabilities of our cars to begin with.
