I've had the prototype on for a while, but it was just spray painted black. I had it on the second day of the last NASA event (when Dave drove down to VIR and helped fit it), and I also ran it during Speedtrial. This is the final prototype header and exhaust. I believe Dave is ready for production models, though don't quote me on that.

No slipping from those arms. I've checked after each run.

The header is coated by Airborn in North Carolina. Dave sends them out there to get coated as the final step.

Yeah. Not the only thing that's bent.

I'll replace it just as soon as someone buys me a new one.

That wouldn't happen to have been a result of Miata biproducts, would it?

No, you have to actually crash to bend that rear tiebar.

You don't have any issues with the primary O2 wiring getting burnt located right next to the collector?Good stuff

I ran 2 weekends at the track like this, with no problems. You can't tell from the pic, but it is zip tied in 2 places, just enough so that it doesn't dangle around too much.

Looks really good, Warren. What length resonator did you go with? It looks like it dumps right before the first bend in the b-pipe. Did you specify a length, or did you just make it fit? I assume it's quiet enough to run at most tracks?

Have you ever seen a Sms header in person? The primary's and secondaries are huge compared to any prduction header. Your probably looking at them compared to the exhaust and thinking that. I would almost bet its a 2.5 system.

The exhaust itself is a full 2.5" diameter. Doesn't get much bigger than that on these cars The resonator is a straight through 18" Magnaflow.

As for sound, this is a race only exhaust. My car is trailered to tracks. It is definately loud. Loud enough so that you have to wear earplugs on the track. It's a race car after all. It's quieter than an open stock header, but not by too much, if that helps.

If you want to hear the race exhaust, you can grab the VIR video from my sig, and turn it up. Dave can make exhausts from either full blown race applications to street driven setups, which almost pass for stock.
