so then i replaced the vss with 3 different ones from the junkyard........
then i cleaned the plug that goes to the top of the vss.......
still nothing !!!!!!!!!!!!!
so i ordered a vss from honda brand new installed it today and still nothing
so i took my buddy's ecu out of his 97 dx and still same problem
my searching threw honda-tech ive seen that many people have had similar problems and never posted a solution to the problem ........ so now im asking for your help ...... oh and the car is throwing a cel for the oxygen sensor bank 2 but no vss code

i bought a speedo with tach from the junkyard for my eg, and ever since the speedo goes haywire and stops working if i go 45 or 75 for more than a minute or so straight, or if it is wet or really cold.
I cleaned all the contacts on the PCB and connectors, but no luck. I just blame it on the shitty junkyard cluster that was sitting exposed to the elements for months

I had that problem on my civic, I took it to an auto electrician.
He fixed it and told me that a farly common cause is a cable rubbing on the intake manifold, round behind the engine, you need to get the car up in the air and look for it from underneath.
HTH

My buddy had a similar prob. Just doing like the 15mph the speedo would go from 15 to like 120 and back and forth. He took it everywhere. Ended up being a 5cent fuse
