Default Mobil 1 Tri-synthetic no good?

I know a lot of members here use Mobil 1 synthetic and I ran across this thread on a Probe forum. Just wanted to throw it out here and get some responses from ya'll. Any comments? http://www.probetalk.com/forums/show...did=1700965625

It definately dissapoints me about the Tri-Synthietic formulation but there are really no other affordable alternatives. So I guess its Mobil 1 for me too.

They mentioned Amsoil & Delvac 1. Anyone know if I can find them at any local store in So Cali?

http://www.bigskyoil.com/compare_oils/compare_oils.html

New mobil1 numbers:

It looks like its not as good as it used to be, but it still looks like its the best under Amsoil.

I used to put Redline oil in the engine but at 16$ a quart I quickly stopped.
I will stick with Mobil 1.

Only if they're fools. ANY oil accumulates particulates (dirt) and impurities over time and miles.

I don't believe any of what they say. I'm sticking with Mobil 1.

That test seems to be posted on a amsoil dealer? A bit biased MAYBE?

Here's an article at amsoil.com supporting their claim of 25000 mile change interval. Consider the source, but some of what they say is interesting.

BTW, don't knock a car you didn't drive. The 2nd gen Probe GT is very capable car. I know, I used to own one.

Yeah, well I'll stop using Mobil 1 when it stops being factory fill for Vipers, Porsches, McLaren Formula 1 cars, etc.

also a while ago it was argue by mobil that castrol was selling at the same price or near it synthetic formula and which turn out to only be 75% of it. and well mobil dint win to prove that castrol should sell at less do to the % of there motor oil not being consider thru syntetic . but i guess that mobil 1 starting to do the samething and unfortuanally the consumer is the one at lost .
