what are you b16 guys runnin in the 1/4? (not stripped down track queen cars)..daily driver types.
just curious? people say that yall should be in the 'low 14's'...but everyone i've seen run is only like REALLY high 14's, low 15's. hardly seems worth it to me. what are yall launching/shifting at?

good luck.
good luck.
yeah man i tried that....everytime it comes back and just says 'invalid'
16.0?? damn......i didnt get traction all of second gear in one run and still ran 15.7......the best i got out of two runs so far is 15.2.....thats with some crappy *** tires and it was starting to drizzle.....with a good track day and some drag radials im pretty sure i can hit 14.5.....oh i had some crappy *** 60' times too
i ran a 14.6 with full interior except for the spare in the back.
b17a swap
ys1 tranny
aem intake
and some drag radials
i rev up to around 5 grand and slip the clutch until the tires grip and then floor it.......i shift right before 8 grand

my bro's b16A '88 Rex ran a 14.8 with a stock CRX intake (hacked), stock CRX exhaust, stock B16 exhaust manifold, stripped interior. holley fuel pump (doesn't really help, I know) and wires. That's on crappy street tires with a slow 60 ft. He runs an S1 tranny, non limited slip! B16's are worth it! He's now got an AEM intake and a Performance Cat. so we're hoping 14.6's this year.
I ran a 14.4 with all the seats but driver removed, and stock piping no muffler, aem, chipped ecu, vtec controller, and this is in a 91 dx hatch, the heaviest year of them all so i say it's worth it. I think once i get my header and exhaust on, i should break 13's.
i guess the flames are bound to come with such a question. there is a guy around here DC Metropolitan area that believes that VTEC doesn't work!!!!
I have a 1991 Civic EX 4 door and with slicks and weighing >2570 lbs. with me in it have run 13.98 @ 99.41 mph with a sucked clutch. I do have Portflow head, CTR pistons and ITR intake mani & cams (not dynoed). Launch @ 8k rpm, 1-2 shift @ 7k, 2-3 shift @ 9250 rpm....

I ran 14.6 in my full interior civic si with just an intake and exhaust. And on street tires too. Damn I'm starting to miss my b6a.
14.8 @ 95mph - 90 CRX DX with b16a/s1. Stock 13" radials ($30 tires), full interior with stage 1 HC Racing clutch and cheap intake/exhaust. I was throwing 2 codes for the oxygen sensor and IACV valve then too.
i ran a 15.2 with full interior stock....... now i'm in the 12's:D worth the 750 for the complete swap... hehe..
15.2 with a VAFC and 98 GSR cams. full interior and street tires. oh and @ either 2600 ft or 3600 ft. cant remeber what the elevation is here is sucks i remeber that much.
but a little advice. if your drag racing or just street racing get something bigger than the B16, it wasnt really ment to go in a straght line. look at the B16 dyno charts here on H-T. They all should have a major TQ gap until 5000rpms. and when your road racing. you stay above that range. this is why the B16 does so well on road coarses and sucks at the drag strip.
hope this helps.

My B16a 88DX ran a 14.2@100mph full interior, 14.0 stripped.
My B16a 88Si ran a 14.2@@95mph full interior with ITR intake manifold, intake, cam gears (tuned), no cat, USDM ITR header (-8hp midrange), exhaust, and 8500rpm redline. Added ITR cams, it ran a 14.2@100mph spinning madly.
I hope my 90HF will run a 14.5 or so, full interior.

i WAS running 13.9 on street tires weighing in at 2300 and some change on full interior.
We recently built a B16 with the basic bolt ons and it hit 14.5 on street tires, full interior.
The launch was good though, hit 2.0 60 ft on street tires.
In comparison,
here are other setups we have:
LS/VTEC with CTR pistons and GSR head. stock head, stock header, stock ecu.
Everything stock except the pistons. On slicks it hit 13.2 at104mph.
Recently installed CTR cams, Skunk2 Intake Manifold, JDM headers and a new upgraded ECU.
Havent timed it yet since the last time.
D16A6: all motor.
Im running the same setup 3 years ago. At that time, it hit 13.6 on slicks with just intake, header, exhaust, headwork, cam and cam gear.
THe block was stock as well as the clutch.
Its not full interior(just the rear part taken out) and it was still daily driven and getting 35 mpg.
Put about 35K miles on it a year with about 100 miles of work, school, home driving everyday.
In 2001, it was still hitting 13.6 on an really old stock block(at least 100K miles on it) and we finally took the motor out this weekend to redo a new full race SOHC setup.

P.S. Congrats to Bisi E for his D15 all motor carbed CRX, hit 10.93 at IDRC in Arizona this weekend.
to continue with the B16 times
