Holy crap! $350 for insurance? Get another quote if you can, I pay $255 for my R and Xterra.

If you want an S2000 that bad you are going to get one anyway, although at 18 there are much better things to spend that kind of money on, like school.

if the title is under your name, and your moms name then who is the primary driver of the car? that will play the decision for insurance...

my s2000 is in my dads name, with him the primary driver and me the secondary...thats why its cheap...

just live within your means and dont go out of your way to afford one or you'll regret it when you're living from check to check.

i'm 20 and everything is under my name and i pay:

month: $360
ins.: $255
and work at Quest Diagnostics and they dont pay squat ...hopefully i'll have a better by March (gotta wait for bonuses before i leave )

I'm 35 yrs.old, I have a 2001 w/35kmi. My payment is 300.00 per mo.
My ins payment for full coverage with high limits is 159.00 per mo. w/no tickets.(for now at least) If you wait, your ins. rate changes once at 21 and again at 25. or just get a lesser expensive, used s2k and adj your coverages to minimum.

There are better deals out there...For 20k you should be able to get a really nice 03. I found mine on autotrader.com It was in Oklahoma and I'm in TX. It had only 32kmi on it and it has a brand new hard top. I got mine for 17,200. Talked him down from 19k. 2000's are going for 15-16k with and avg of 50-60kmi.
