Wheels are wear items. They bend, crack, break, turn in to squares, etc.... inspect them, replace as neccessary.

I had a set of circuit 8's for two years. Used for open track events and daily driving to and from work. One wheel cracked on the spoke but was quickly replaced by rota...rota paid for all shipping charges and i had a new wheel delivered to my home within a week...other than that no complaints
I have a set of 16s i use for daily and open track events. They seem to have held up pretty well for the past two years. Although two of them now have dents in them (crappy road work on 237). But they were fine two weekends ago at a open track event.

Some of the SE-R crowd bent/cracked/broke C8's right after they came out. Maybe they've improved since then.
Can't you just get K1's like the rest of the cool kids?

how old were they when you had them replaced? I have a cracked spoke on one right now and was thinking I'd buy a single, but if rota will give me one free...
That said, I've roadraced on them for 4 or 5 years and 1 cracked spoke out of 8 wheels isn't bad considering the abuse I've put them through

Wow, maybe a set of slipstreams are in my future. Companies that stand behind their products seem to be getting harder and harder to find.

Dave, I had a set on my delsol. I bent them a year after I bought them. Now yes it was on the street, but it was only a small pothole. Which I feel is a similar impact as an off or even a hard hit on a curb. This developed a slow leak shortly after. . The replacement set was the GSR blades. This wheel sustained an impact that literally ripped the outer part of the rim face right off. Right there by the bead. A year and a half later is still holding air.I wouldnt buy C8's set for that reason. Buy something else.
I've daily driven on mine and done some street-tire auto-x for the past 4 years, no problems. Have hit a few HARD bumps on these crappy streets and even a curb without any bends or cracks. I also auto-x on Slipstreams now and they've been great.
Really good to see that Rota is standing behind their product so well.

I may have some Filipino blood in me but I sure wouldnt buy a Filipino cast wheel that is a copy of a forged one made by one of the top wheel manufacturers of the world!
Good luck.
Good luck.

Is that because they're a good company... or because they know their product is ****-poor and they manufacture the wheels so cheaply they can give plenty away and still stay in business? Discuss.

just get some k1, look good, bulletproof, light, and cheap
what else could you want.
but back on topic,
a few guys use circuit 8 for auto-x in atlanta region, rough lots and never
had any catastophic failures, just clean and inspect every so often

Okay I'll discuss.
Their wheels pass all the strict Japanese regulations. When early Rota Attacks started breaking under hard race use (they did meet the same regulations), they voluntarily recalled all of them and had fixed versions sent out promptly. Any somewhat light wheel is going to be at least a little prone to failure under extreme conditions. The fact that everyone and their cousins have Rotas, including all those kids on sLamM3D rYd3s, should mean something. Light wheel + huge quantities of customers = you're gonna have a few break. If it was a real problem we would have heard of a lot more instances of breakage by now.

Thanks for all the responses. It looks as though the good outweighs the bad in this case. Here is the criteria that matches what i need:
1) Cheap - dont feel like f'n up expensive wheels and cheaper than K1's
2) Light Weight - 14lbs
3) Easily replaceable - Plenty in the market and it looks as though Rota is doing a good job standing behind their rims
4) Looks - always helps to like the way your wheels look(not to thrilled on K1 looks)
From the discussion it seams as though these are not such a bad choice and are cheap enough to buy and try out and see what happens.

i had a set of C8's on my integra back in the day. they stood up to 3 years on track (including the many spins and offs) and daily driving. i had a major off once which scratched the **** out of lip, but it still held air and i took a hard look at them but never found a crack every time i inspected.
Personally don't care for them. Never had any problems autocrossing but took 2 out on the street. First was a pretty big pothole (full of water of course) that put a decent dent in the wheel. Still held air but enough damage to be felt driving. Second one was running of a grill (like Ford truck grill, not barbecue grill). Put a crack in the wheel about 1.5-2" long. That was on the way to Atlanta. Found no problems until I got back home and the tire started losing pressure. Found the crack and took them all off and sold the remaining 3. No problems with any of their other wheels but I won't run the C8s again.
