5 years, 50k miles, just paid it off, and now STOLEN!!!!!! South Jersey area
I've had this senario in the back of my mind for the past 5 years now. Low and behold, it happened this morning. Wake up to go to work, NO CAR. It was there at 2:00 AM and by 8:30, not. Figures I just got the title for it 2 weeks ago.
I called the local police and filled out a report. I'm waiting for a call back from Allstate Insurance. Is there anything I need to do, or should do in the meantime? I offered some pictures to the police officer, but he said it wasn't necessary.
Any idea as to what kind of settlement the insurance company will come to if the car is not recovered? That's the part i'm dreading the most.

To make this all the more intriging. My wife said she saw the car at 5:30 this morning when she left for work. That leaves a window of 5:30-8:30 for the car to get jacked. How I didn't see or hear anything is baffling.

The insurance company should give you the market value of the car. The worst part is dealing with the rental car company and getting the check from the insurance company. Then having to deal with finding a new car. Sorry about your car. Good luck in the future. Peace.
