skunk2 coilovers... good / bad?
hey guys
a nice fellow local to my area is selling skunk 2 coilovers. i ran a search but i didnt find much info on these things.
will i have to get a decent set of struts to run these coilovers? any recommendations that arent too expensive? i think there are tokicos on it at the moment.
do any of you guys run skunk2?
thanks

i think their springs are way too stiff, and are of questionable quality. youll definately want quality shocks with these if you really must get em.
i wouldnt use them.
i wouldnt use them.
thanks for the input. well its either a coil over setup, or the eibach pro kit, which isnt adjustable.
i heard w/ a coilover system, you have to worry about cross sectional balancing with weights at the wheels? is this true?
would i still have to deal with that if i was jsut running a non adjustable setup?

i enjoyed my prokits very much. daily driver, autocrossed and began road racing with them.

not at all. sounds like either you or the person who said this doesnt understand what corner weights mean. having coilovers allow you to adjust for corner weight. but you still must have a 4 point scale to accomplish this. and honestly, its not critical, especially for a daily driver.
it sounds like you really would be better off with just prokits and you can keep your blues. although i really do recommend illuminas, not just for adjustability, but for the higher quality of shock that tokico offers at a very decent cost.

You need to do more research. They are typically $300-350 for their coil sleeve type kit.

like voodoo said, they're more like 300 new. they're on sale often for a little less, and plenty of people sell their GC kits used. I don't trust Skunk2 sleeves, and the springs they use make a huge difference.
as far shocks, i'd go with some AGX's or Illuminas. Yellows seem to be out of your price range, but i don't think your blues will be able to handle most lowering setups. Pro-kit maybe, but that's about it.
shop around for a set of used GC's and some new illums or AGX's and it should be more like $600 for a pretty competent street setup.
