Cut Springs?
Should I do it or not? I figure even if it aint good then I can buy some new proper springs later. I've heard people say it makes your ride stiffer or "harsher" which is good but it increases body roll which is bad. Either way it'll look cool! Well how many coils do i cut to lower it 2.5"'s Thanks guys.
PS: Just got polyurethane Front/rear suspension kit installed (HANDLES SWEET !!!)

so you ust installed your polys...don't **** up the handling by cutting the springs. Just LEAVE THEM ALONE. You will NOT be happy with them. Other than it will "look good" when sitting there.
why cut them.. the time it takes to take em a part and put them back in.... save your cash....your from kelowna right me too ...i just got a price from lordco for a 1.8 in drop $223 that not bad .then it`s done right the first time...
my homeboi bought some coilovers ...dont know brand name but it looks likes skunks...he bought it for 100 at the aftermarket shop..the ride feels koo..i think its even better than skunks....

i bought my car and it had heated springs. They just heated them up on the car. It sets about 3 inches off of the ground and it rides great. They heated about half of the spring.
Do you know any more infor on how they did this? And what is the gap between your wheel and your body piece? Ground clearence? Standard torch? How long does it drop while you heat it? etc.
Thanks

i have seen a guy do heated coils on a rental before. he put some 2x4's under the car and took a torch to the coils and you could see the car drop then he just drove off. just spend the money and do it write.
I dont got the money i just spent 6000 on my REX now i cant get it lowered till june so i want to cut them. I heard that cutting is better cause itll be even compared to uneven heating method. Heated springs are supposed to be really bad in differentiating weather. I think ill just get an extra set of stock springs from bone yard for 10 bucks and cut them down a bit but how much of the coils do i cut?
I might have money if i sell my VW eibach springs ... mmmm an idea !

cutting coils ain too hard to do. just be sure that you cut the coil at the same spot where it previously ended before. each ring should be bout and in. give or take a lil. just take the springs and cut a coil and then try it. better to take the time and go slow with trial and error than cut too much the first time and be fucked.
cutting the springs will increase the spring rate of the stock spring, people with AE 86's do it because there isnt a quality aftermarket springs for there cars,
it is kind of ghetto when you can get quality springs from eibach and other such aftermarket companies...
do it right, or step off the platform...
