What good does swapping right rear upper control arms for left rear upper control arms do for caster?

Someone told me that they did this to there Civic to improve their rear caster settings and I just wanted to ask for more information regarding this modification.

Have any of you guys done it to your car?
How was it in terms of improving the total feel of the car at the track?
How much more/less caster does this give your car?
Where your track times improved?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
TIA

Do you mean camber?

Maybe I'm the one mistaken, but I thought caster was only relevant to steering wheels.

Karl is talking about the fronts though... which would make sense.

Escalvante asked about the rears...

Why would you want to adjust the rear caster?

I drive a '92 VX with ITR front and rear springs, shocks, LCAs, swaybars, Benen front and rear Lower tie bars, Skunk2 2002 reinforced front adjustable A-arms, and Specialtly products rears.

I asked because I never heard of swapping control arms and now that I read that thread, it's the front upper A-arms that are being swapped and most of the guys that have done it are happy with the results.

This car is a street car but will begin it's track life at the end of summer and I just to know if this was a worth while modification.

Now I have some questions:
Since I have the Skunk2 A-Arms, should I swap those or do I still have it mixed up?
Since I can't adjust the ride height, how much will my ride height be affected/thrown off by this mod?

TIA

Swapping the Skunk2 arms should have the same effect as swapping the stock arms.

This shouldn't effect ride height.

JeffS: I read a lot of the posts people made in the thread that was posted earlier and people were saying that their ride height and camber settings where thrown off.
That was the reason for my question.
Thanks for all the info.

It's the front arms you want to swap. You will be marginally lower when you swap them. I doubt you will even notice the difference. The camber settings on the skunks are adjustable, so who cares? Kick them all the way in if you're running hoosiers

I think my caster ended up around 3.3 degrees. I'm going off memory, so I could be wrong.

Mine ended up at 3.7l/4.1r.

BTW: I don't see how swapping anything in back will change caster cosidering the LCAs are attached parallel to the body. Even if it did .. what would be gained from doing so??

Yea, one thing I inherited from my father was the ability to run my mouth when I'm not 100% sure what I'm talking about. I try very hard to fight that tendency, but sometimes I lose...
