Hi fellow HT members, just a little background on my self. I have been restoring cars (specifically integras) for a while now, with much gratification in the work I do.
It is a very depressing sight to see that the Integra Type R is a dieing breed, due to phenomenal theft rates all across the America and Japan. Some of the more obvious causes of such high theft rates are a result of the increased demand in the black market for the car's parts (engine, transmission, interior, exterior, ect. you name it!). From what I have seen it has come to the point where you are at a car meet and if somebody says they have ITR parts in their civic or integra (whatever the case maybe) everyone around them will **** (soil) their panties because of the prestige the ITR has. Another factor that makes selling these parts so profitable is that the car is no longer being produced; (which can produce some ridiculous prices)
Most of you guys in the ITR forum know that I am currently working on an ITR restoration project that is almost near completion if I don’t say so myself
But lets cut to the chase
I think every so often everyone in the classifieds or the ITR forum sees a “want add” for an ITR shell (like this one here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1435909 in which I gave the guy a honest response).
As I mentioned before there is nothing better than seeing a poor, stolen, raped, molested, de-virginized, (you guys get the picture) type R on the streets again instilling fear into the hearts of millions of ricers, and muscle car buffs.
I have two main goals. The first one is to say suck my chonch thieves
My second goal is that I want to make a program that is open to anyone that has a deep enough pocket book and patience to restore an ITR of their own.
The way I have things figured out (so far) is that my dad has a dealer membership with Copart (insurance auto auction). So I therefore have access to see some of the cars that go up for sale on a weekly basis. Believe it or not a lot of stolen ITRs (and g3 integras {ls, gs, gsr}) roll into this auction.
I will try to keep an updated post where it will show any ITR shells (theft recoveries) that will be up for grabs in the upcoming auctions. Please note that the location is random and can not be determined, but on the bright side shipping is available
Serious potential buyers can contact me and we can take it from there. I don’t have the details of how the purchasing will be taking place but hopefully soon I will have something worked out.
I know this sounds like long shot, but i know there are a lot of other people in the ITR forum and (HT) that have memberships to Copart. I think the only other person i know of is Casey H (maybe). Any one that wants to help is more than welcome; hell we are trying to increase numbers here
Any input would be greatly appreciated. If you guys in the ITR forum could let me know if this program would be beneficial to HT it would really help. Because to be honest if this ends up not being such a good idea it wont happen. These poor cars deserve a second chance, so somebody should be give the opportunity to give one to it.
Note (all images and info is from copart.com and if you really want to purchase a car i think a guest account is like 50$ a month and you can look and bid i think in all the auctions you want)
To start things off here is one of the upcoming ITR’s that will be for sale soon:

I agree.
That last picture though actually made me cry. It reminded me too much of when I saw my 00 ITR after the theft.

That is exactly what I plan to do as soon as it is possible, and financially smart to do.

I'm about 12k deep in mine already and I'm still missing a cage and a good set of coilovers. Oh well, you only live once.

I've spent a lot more than that and I'm still missing parts. Atleast I built it the way I wanted to and not pay for stuff I'm not going to use.

Are you restoring to original state or building a track car?

It won't be a honda challenge car but I use it for my personal track car and also will be using it to represent JHPUSA in time attack events. Here is a link to my ht garage to show the specs and how it sits now.
