Pics of Fuel Systems
I am having trouble on finding a good way to draw fuel from the stock tank. This past year I drawed the fuel out the drain of the bottom of the tank, but it wouldnt allow good flow and would lean itself out when the car would get semi low on fuel.. i am changing the system this year put was wondering if some of you guys also running t4/spfwd could share or show me how your systems are drawing fuel from the tank..
Thanks
Thanks
u have to sump it. lots of people r not going 2 want 2 weld on a gas tank so take your time to air it out well. unless you weld for a living dont do it yourself ,diffinatly dont want it to leak.
You could also try running the bosch pump which is a puller pump. I talk to stan from fastturbo and he runs one. He used the stock pickup with a sock at the end so it pulls fuel like stock. At the top of th pickup/tank cover I think he ran a -10 to the bosch pump and then to the engine bay. HOpe that makes sense.
This is what we ran and what we have done for a lot of our customer.
Bosch pump (good for high 700 to 800 whp)

Modified stock fuel pump cover, notice I used the stock feed as a return line.

Modified stock fuel pump pickup.

I have changed the sock to a larger mustang sock.
I have made over 700 and have had customer made close to 800 ish with this exact setup without any problem. I have run them on the street as well (not much). I have also made a pass with the fuel light on after burnout.
The benefit of this setup is:
No sumping, most people have no idea on what it take to sump a tank, you have to clean it thoroughlyto remove all the gas traces out, cut it, weld the sump and re-clean it thoroughly to get all the debris out.
No need to have 1/3 fuel at the tank at all time...Our setup uses the stock honda gate and larger socks that acocmodate more fuel
no easy to install, we'll even modify your stock pickup for you
My fuel setup is as follow:
Aeromotive FPR 13101
Bosch 0402 pump
1600cc Injectors
Paxton Inline fuel filter
Fast-Turbo -10An fuel line kit and -8An into the engine bay using stock feed as a return
Contact me if you need more information or post here and I'll help you guys as much as I can.

Pickle,
Baffle the stock tank (2 9/16 is what I used):

Then weld the sump into place:

Take to a radiator shop to clean the tank out completely. Cost is about $75 to do this.
The install back into car:

I used the stock piece that held the feed/return. I dremeled that all out, then drilled and tapped for a return fitting:

Im trying to keep it to as little fabricating as possible, so i'd say the sump system is out for me..I'll definitley keep it in mind but I like how stan does his..That more of what i had in mind myself..I'm using that exact same pump but again i'm pulling the fuel out of the drain and it cant pull it out fast enough..Although i wanna run a Weldon pump this year could i position it enough to draw fuel that way as well??
Thanks for the imput..

Theo,
Were you using the bosch pump that I had ?
Read my reply again, I have made a pass with fuel light on after my burn out and never once it leaned out.

Stan, how about running a "boost a pump" inline fuel pump along with a walbro pump? I think I've heard of some people doing this.
I think if I get serious, I'm going to have to up the fuel system.
Can you PM me a price on your "setup"?

Stan,
That setup looks great, but please be careful when making the recomendation to run that low on gas. It's not the pump setup, but rather the stock fuel tank's design that makes it dangerous. The stock tank in an EK (don't know about your integra) has a bathtub looking thing that the sock and pickup sit in. Under hard acceleration with a low fuel level, there is no way for fuel to fill up the bathtub except for the regulator return. If you're picking up from the stock location, I'd always recommend having at least 3/4 tank. At least that's from my experience. Better safe than sorry, motors are expensive.
For the street, that setup is ideal. Anything with a sock in the stock pickiup location will allow you to run that tank bone dry. Can't do that with a sump. I know, and it kinda sucks on the street.

I jsut bought one of stan's full fuel kits. I figure i should be getting it soon. But meet my needs of giving me fuel for 700+ and allowing me not to worry constantly about hitting a pot hole or something and killing a pump.
if my hatch had a fuel light i'd rely on it, but etiher the cluster is dead or the sensor, as its never worked, so i just fill up once i see the needle get low.

Here is my sump. And it works awesome!! I always had fuel even when I hit the brakes at the end of the track.

Damn Art , I didnt know you were a OG..That sump is the hotness though..I just hate thinkin about all the bitch work of doing it..What is a price on doing everything with all parts as well?
I'm still working on mine but here is progress so far. Pump still needs mounted and wired and all that stuff. I paid $90 to have the tank cleaned inside, sump installed and the tank lined with some gas tank liner. Radiator shop did it.

plus we got all the stuff to do it at our shop
