Default aftermarket fog lights

hey guys, can you post up some pictures of your aftermarket fog lights for your crx. i have an 88 crx, the front bumper doesnt have the ducts for the fog lights. im thinking of using the del sol crx fog lights if i can find some for cheap and if they mount well. i also found some nice pilot 3" fog lights. a little big for my taste but as long as they work well, i guess it will be fine. i will also be upgrading my bulbs to some silverstar bulbs. i pass on the 9005 conversion and using another bulbs that needs to use higher wattage (dont need electrical fire). i am looking for some round amber ones. if you can also post price paid, that would help greatly. thanks in advance. oh yeah, i already searched and didnt find anything.

There are quite a few aftermarket fogs that will look good. APC makes a nice set, and so do a few other companies that I have seen. Check your local auto parts store.

It may not be JDM but seriously, who the expletive cares....your night lighting will be better.

Ive seen those at the auto parts store and was thinking about installing on my dx bumper, since it doesnt have the area for the fog light itself, do you have any suggestions on mounting. Nice job by the way......I eventually want to put JDM fog lights but theyre out of my budget. The ones you got should do for now....

I cut a hole in the bumper and used a custom bracket to mount the fogs. It wasn't all that hard. I saw another set at a local oreilly's and those dont have that metal bracket on that the APC's have. These would have worked better on my bumper but I didnt know about them at the time.

i have the APC ones too... as long as you take the time to install them right where the stock ones were, they look great. the lens is made out of glass. best of all is they were only 15 bucks

part number is 505010A for the APC's

I will try to find the brand and part number for the others. The JDM fogs are of course a bit more rounded and smooth around the edges but I don't see any reason not to use these. Function over style and these lights aren't garbage....they are glass and built solid.

i went to PEPBOYS of all places.... and went to the offroad truck section.... they got plenty of square yellow glass foglights. (didnt have the APC stuff when i was there)

although i did see some clear apc's at autozone.

for some reason i like these better than the "OEM LOOK" at the time, now i want the OEM lights.

EDIT:

worst pics ever, i know.

Wal Mart is teh evil!

Jk... but they do fit inside the WW front holes perfectly.

Streetwerkz, what brand were those lights? I know there is another brand besides APC that makes a nice looking set of fogs that would fit an EF front bumper quite nicely....just cant remember the name

yeah they are but I am going tomorrow to buy the other set. They don't have that annoying bracket that the APC's have. The others should be alot easier to mount.

Ok I went and bought the other brand of fogs for $17 and change at my local AutoZone. They are almost identical to the APC's....just a little lighter. The main difference is that they dont have that big bracket that sticks up. Here they are side by side(note that the APC's on the right are dirty and have some overspray on them from when the body shop had them.

I got my old 91 bumper(its ruined anyways) and I did some experimenting. The best way you can try to mount these things is to drill a hole just big enough to fit the bolt through it.....then just use a washer and the nut to secure it to the bumper itself(no bracket needed). The hard part is that you have to cut the BOTTOM of the pocket where the lights sit. I didn't have time to do it but you can get an idea of what I mean. The lights would basically be hanging in air. If you don't cut the bottom of the pocket then the lights will look like this.

So if you want them to look like they are "pushed in" then the bottom of the pocket(air duct, whatever you wanna call it)is going to have to be cut.
