Default OBD2->OBD1 Idle problems, still after repinning the ecu and changing harness plug

Okay, I repinned my ecu moving the blue/black wire from A12->A14 and then I removed the orange wire in slot A13. I just got the harness plug in today and wired it in. Instead of being black and turquoise wires coming out of the sensor plug, the one I got color matched to my harness (it had a yellow/black and a blue/black wire coming out).

I spliced the plug in and I thought it fixed the problem because when I turned the car over it started idling around 600 RPM then it slowly started creeping up and started idleing again at 1,500 RPM and was sort of jumpy (+ or - like 50 rpm, very minimal but you would notice it).

http://www.jdmuniverse.com/for...32971 <- shows how to wire the IACV towards the bottom of the page

I still haven't gotten in my y8 manifold with the right IACV but it should be in any day now. As I understand it though the car would have a little higher (apx. 900 RPM) than normal idle if the IACV is unplugged (as it is now).

The ecu is throwing a code for the IACV but I'm assuming that its because its unplugged. (duh)

Cliff Notes
-I repinned the ecu
-got a 2 wire IACV harness plug with yellow & black/blue wires
-spliced that onto the harness to like colors
-Car idles @ 1500 RPM (slight jumpiness)

-?should my car idle that high even if the plug isn't plugged in?
-?did I splice the right colors together; or do I have the wrong 2 wire plug?

Specs
-D16y7
-t25 turbo
-phearable.net p06 (crome)

OK I will try and answer your question ok I pretty much have the same engine and everything as you. D16y7 with t3 opendown pipe chipped P06 ECU with the y5 manifold.

I had the exact same problems as you. Since you are in VT I bet its been pretty cold out. Well My car will idle really rough until warmed up. Then it will idle pretty much prefect at 900. So you might want to run it for a while then check.

I remember having tons of problems with the idle too so what I did was clean the IACV like 10 times to try to fix and even changed new IACV but didn't noctice any diff. I also bleed my raditor a couple of times to make sure there was no bubbles.

I will have to check on my wireing system a little later for you.
Wait n/m I think I have a pic.

So do you have your IACV plugged in still? you have a 2 wire IACV on the car I assume. what are you pulling for a vacum cause I'm gettin like half of what I should be getting, I'm pulling like 9 and I think it should be closer to 20 ish. How did you get around the y7 IACV on the throttle body, did you block it off with something? It seems that my cars idle gets even worse when it warms up though thats the thing, and I can't go and get it tuned because I have to drive the car like an hour and a half. I really appreciate the help, definenly what I needed to hear.

Yes my IACV is plugged in. What I did about the y7 throttle body was I got a y5 manifold pretty much the same as the Y8 manual manifold. Reason why I did this is because it allows you to put the IACV on the back of the manifold where it should be. Then I got a new throttle body so then it eliminated the IACV on the Throttle body and then allows you to only have it on the manifold. Kinda sounds confusion.

Your idle problem almost sounds like a vacuum leak b/c you said that you get 9 mg/in where I get about 20 mg/in of vacuum at idle. This might possibly be they reason for the bad idle. CHECK YOUR ALL vacuum lines too. TIP: spray some wd40 where you might think there is a leak and if you see bubbles then you know its leaking. Also get rid of that y7 manifold too and get the y8, y5, or z6 manifold but make sure when you buy one its MANUAL b/c the auto ones come with a 3 wire IACV.

I have a question are you running the 3 wire IACV right now with OBD-1 ecu or are you still using OBD-2 ecu?
Just wondering b/c 3 wire IACV doesn't work with OBD-1 ECUs.

I've already got a y8 manifold but it the automatic, I've got a 5spd coming in with the 2 wire IACV next week. I don't think that its a vacum leak cause I've all ready tried the wd40 trick and when I turn it over initially it idles fine for like a couple secs then it slowly gets up to 1500rpm and starts idleing rough. Also its a p06 ecu and with and uberdata basemap

then get the y8 manifold in there and use the 2 wire... should fix your problem... but if it doesn't you can try cleaning it with brake cleaner..
