Default Need Directions On how to test VTEC Solenoid ... Any Pics Greatly Appreciated !!!

Hey guys,

having problem with my vtec. I need directions on how to test it with a 12v battery to see it if opens and closes ??? please add detail or pics, i am new when it comes to vtec, so thanx !!!

power cable to power battery terminal

neg to neg

if the solenoid clicks, its good

awesome, i just did it, worked great. now, my oil is good and clean and full, my pressure is good, my solenoid is good, and my vtec still doesn't work.... ... any other suggestions ?

make sure your car is at full operating temp or vtec wont click in.


have u done any ecu wiring?

ran car for about 20 minutes just to make sure it was at correct temp and still didn't work. no ecu wiring at all and no CEL's.

i am sooooo lost....

im having the same problem.. so what you do is connect the power wire to the blue/black on the pressure switch and black to ground??? and you should hear clicking???
