I used this stuff to fix my cracked radiator a long time ago and remembered it was the sh*t. So I decided to try it out with my oil pan bung/nipple. It solidifies within a few hours, but when you first use it, its like playdough. Just had to kneed it together to get the chemical reaction going, and they mold it the way you want. It's hard as a rock now (1 day curing) How does it look? btw, this stuff can handle up to 500+ degrees in temp and can be used on any surface and underwater as well. Good stuff.

I didnt remove anything, I hope it holds up. I'd say this stuff is way better than JB since you can mold it.

there are a whole lot of places you really dont want to skimp on. this beiong one of them

take the pan and a steel fitting to a local welder and give him 10$

We used some of that crap to hold my buddie's clutch cable to the tranny (its a scirrocco) and its holdin up well so far. I dont know if i'd want that inside my oil pan though...

Its the same basic stuff as jbweld, just in a thicker form.

If you prep the area properly it will last for years, but unfortunatly it doesnt look like you did. If your set on using this, I would remove it and start over. You can use a hammer and small chisel to chip it off. You MUST remove the paint before you apply it, or it will eventually chip off taking the paint with it. Use a wire brush to get to bare metal, and clean with brake cleaner before you apply it. Also do the outside only. If you clean and prep it, it will last for years.
