All Motor LSVTEC build / dyno
Alright, I know how much I loved watching other people's builds when I was parting my own togther, so I might as well finally contribute something to this community that has served me pretty well so far...

The Results:
175 whp @ 7800 RPM
129 wtq
What I Should Have Checked:
Well, see where it says "stock cams" up there? They were sold to me as Skunk2 Stage 2's by another member here on H-T.
Turns out I got scammed, and didn't know it until I hit the dyno and laid down some low numbers with a really low VTEC x-over point. Call me crazy, but I've never seen S2S2's want VTEC at 5000 RPM.
So in the end, I paid $350 for some stock B16 cams. I suppose I should have measured them before I got rid of my S2S1's.
What Just Arrived in the Mail today:
A brand-spanking-new set of Skunk2 Pro2+'s straight from Justice Racing in Maryland.
Now onto what you all clicked for, the pictures:
P30's in their new home

New engine sitting in it's bay

...And finally, the dyno sheet (sorry for the low-quality, used cell phone camera for all photos)

Conclusion:
After the new cams, and a re-tune, I hope to see at least 190whp. 200whp would be stellar, but I'm not getting my hopes up. A nice 13.99-second pass would be nice, too, but then again, it's just a wish.
All in all, I'm pleased with the build so far. At 350 miles, I've burnt a little oil, and smoked a little, but nothing compared to my old beat B16 used to. Plus, the torque seems to be everywhere compared to my 1.6-liter.
Any comments/questions are welcomed.
Thank you Honda-Tech,
- Derek
UPDATE!!! - 12/12/05
On Saturday, December 10th, I attended a dyno competition at Dynamic Motorsports in Dillsburg, PA. I've been very anxious to see how much of a difference those big *****'ing cams made compared to stock B16 cams.
Here's the results:

Take a look at the air/fuel ratio! Keep in mind that this was just a 'quick' A/F tune on the street about a month or so ago. I called my tuner, 93turbo16, and he claims my goal of 200whp may be in sight with some timing adjustment, and a little more air/fuel tuning on the dyno.
Also, as a side note, I'd like to thank Honda Bull for approximating my torque curve. For some reason, my car wasn't delivering a tach signal on the dyno, so he cleverly figured the numbers out pretty closely to what we believe to be a ROUGH estimate of the torque. So, please excuse the ghetto-rigged torque curve on there.
For that reason, I will not give an official torque output number.
NEW RESULTS:
192.73 whp
Thanks again, and happy holidays!

congrats. looks like a nice street setup. With a nice header and the cams, i see 200whp well within reach. With Portwork to the head. I see 225whp attainable. I made 210 untuned WHP with a very similar setup, some porting, smsp header, and Pro 1 cams.

Thanks for the encouragement.
One thing I neglected to mention is that I have a bet with a friend of mine that doesn't think an NA LSVTEC can make upwards of 185whp.
He works for a shop that claims LSVTEC's period 'don't work,' so when I laid down 175whp, I was content. Later I found out those cams weren't what I had thought they were. So now my friend will be eating his words, hopefully.

what is your buget like so far? excluding the stock cams you bought

Oh my... Way too much.
The machine shop bill alone was $750.
I'll have to make a tally and add onto the first post.

Actually, I had a friend cut, bend, and weld me on a flat piece of steel onto the bottom of it. I had no idea HeelToe had one... No kidding.
Here's a picture:

Thanks for the support, everyone.

How 'bout no?
I think I made pretty good power on stock B16 cams, if I say so myself.
UPDATE:
Got the new cams in last night, and fired it up. The idle's a little shaky at high idle right now, but I'm not going to be driving it until my tuner gets here Saturday.

Sweet Lord, she idle's like poo.
I had to turn the screw under the throttlebody to even get it to remotely resemble a stable idle.
Drove it down to get gas, and at every stoplight it wanted to shut off.
Looks like she needs some tuning.

mine was tuned by jim@motorvations in alabama... he said he got 195whp out of an ls/vtec the week before me... i think he was using s2s2's
get those cams and it should put you up there... my only regret is not using ctr pistons... i'm sure that would've kicked the hp in its ***.

Yes, she does. Big primary lobes on those cams. Good luck.
