Did you use all 3 motor mounts (including the bitch'n tranny)? If you only switched the 2 easy ones, it will vibrate even more

i'm using 3 motor mount inserts and 2 tq mount inserts..

my car vibrates like no other.. if u come to a stop or an idle.. everything inside the car; starting from the steering wheel to the soda in the cup holder starts shak'n

so my suggestion is.. just get the 2 side motor mount inserts(which u will feeel a huge difference), and don't do the rear.. unless u want your car too vibrate more and have an stiffer engine of corse.

and i know people will be asking me.. why do u have the tq mount inserts when u allready have all 3 motor mount inserts in ?

it's my kahhhh.. <--- my answer

<-- has all 3 (thanks Dan )

I believe Opie has/did have the same ones also. The added vibration/throttle response is nothing but an improvement in my mind. Why would you want them to "settle"? That's defeating the purpose of installing them to begin with. No offense, but what did you expect to happen after they were installed?

i didn't know how much it was gonna vibrate. I had already gone through a couple of sets of stock motor mounts... I personally don't mind. I like to be able to feel the kar, but it is a daily driver and i just wanted to see how it was in other itR's. And for the above comment, i changed every motor mount insert.

I have all three motor mounts installed. Really, the only time I notice vibration is while I'm stopped at idle. Otherwise, it's business as usual.

How does the prothane inserts sound/feel with the ES kit in as well? It is ****** loud. On start up and initial warm up (1500 rpm) it sounds and feels like your inside a drum. Everything shakes and rattles. The steering wheel, the dash, my head, everything. The mirror vibrates. I had to take all the junk out of my ashtray. The door pannels hum. It is ridiculous. I love it (for now, anyways).

At warmed up idle it's not that bad. Kind of feels like sitting in my buddys big block 68 Chevy, but a faster less severe vibration. Through my race bucket it feels like I'm sitting on a back massager on its lowest settin. On the freeway cruising at 4500 in 5th it feels like I have a vibrator up my ***. Kind of pleasent, actually.

I already have the prothane kit installed by my mechanic.

I'm planning to install the ES kit (by myself) as well. With the ES kit, I don't need to use the rear mount since I already have the the prothane one. Am I right? I just want to confirm.

Also, what do you guys recommend to kit the stock mounts? will simple green works?

Yes, do NOT use the ES rear mount inserts as they aren't as stiff as the prothane ones.....

I was just wondering what the point is because I have a kit too for my car just wondering what benefits are truly gained.

The benefits are obvious. Stiffer mounts keep the drivetrain in its place. This allows you to maintain proper geometry during violent launches.

NVH is a bitch, but if you want the highest performance, you just have to deal with it.

In my case, the vibration makes my brain itch, so I just think about sandpaper and it goes away.

When i follow the link the install the driver side ES mount

http://www.hazone.com/hmtrmount.htm

I couldn't lower the engine. It said to loosen the 2 17mm bolt. I assuming it's the 14mm ones on the top engine mount. But when I loosen it, the engine doesn't goes down/drop. (I've already installed the prothane mount). What can I do to lower the engine to install the ES mount?

Would I need to loosen the 2 14mm bolt (red) and also loosen the (green) side bolt in order to loosen the engine?

any help would be great.
