Default Engine damper... who tryed it ?

Like the tittle said... who tryed an engine damper on their car ?

I personally use the Prothane engine mount insert on the 3 engine mounts on my street car and im tired of the vibrations... + Im not sure that its really good for a street car.

I have to find a solution that will limit my engine movement from front to rear cuz on the stock mount there is too much travel with a 300whp engine and sticky tires.

Would it be a good or a bad solution... personnaly im not sure about them but if some of you have good results I may give a try !

Thanks

Mat

I was actually the prototype car for their Integra damper. It was obviously more intended for drag racers, but I found it works well on a road racing car too.

It does make a difference and I feel that it allows me to better put down power coming out of a turn. I'm running a Turbo B18B @ 9 psi, last dyno was 236 whp and 226 torque, with GS-R gears, and a few power mods that don't show up on a dyno. At my last race, the car was consistently in the top ten for the fastest lap times of the day, out of 60+ drivers. It was even keeping up with an good driver in a Z06 (fastest 'vette out there), so I figure I must be doing something right. This car has surprised even me, and it took a lot to get it where it is, but the Ingalls damper definately deserves part of the credit. Good product and good people behind it. They definately put effort into designing something that would stand up to my excessive abuse... I broke the first two prototype brackets, but the one that made it to production has proven to be a very good design.

When people ask me where to buy one, I always refer them to http://www.corsportusa.com (the owner is local to Ingalls, has good prices, and is a friend and competitor of mine)

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=178918 - mount insert review......

How does the prothane inserts sound/feel with the ES kit in as well? It is ****** loud. On start up and initial warm up (1500 rpm) it sounds and feels like your inside a drum. Everything shakes and rattles. The steering wheel, the dash, my head, everything. The mirror vibrates. I had to take all the junk out of my ashtray. The door pannels hum. It is ridiculous. I love it (for now, anyways).

At warmed up idle it's not that bad. Kind of feels like sitting in my buddys big block 68 Chevy, but a faster less severe vibration. Through my race bucket it feels like I'm sitting on a back massager on its lowest settin. On the freeway cruising at 4500 in 5th it feels like I have a vibrator up my ***. Kind of pleasent, actually.

Yes, I have tried it and it made a big difference. I had the ES motor mount insert on the rear mount only, stock torque mounts and a damper like this (another manufacturer) and it was great. Engine didn't move at all and there was no vibrations. I have since sold the car and since the price is so low on these now I will do it once I drop the new engine into my EG hatch. I am going to do the same thing with the ES insert on the rear only.

see this post. It's old but still relevant. Arguing and bitching but good info.

more arguing with idiots that hadn't tried it.

Thanks I will order the Ingalls one. I dont want to mess with a cheap imitation... I prefer to pay more and help a great company.

Anyway its for my street car... I will get you a review... the best way to know is to try it right

Hey Tyson ! I also love your idea lol why not if it work. I may use it on my rear mount to try it.
