Anyone know if you can wire a S2K Cluster to work properly in an EG?? Just Wondering because a friend is selling one for $50 bucks and though it would be kind of neat if i could install it in my car. Thanks.

I read that someone on HT tried to do it and that its HARD as hell to do, and that it wont even work right. The speedo was off by a couple miles. I wouldn't bother with it unless you are an electronic wiz. Save your money.

Wiring is pie if you have the wire diagrams.

The speedo and fuel do not work. They don't work because the RSX/S2K VSS & fuel pumps send digital signals as opposed to the analog signals used by older civics.

Awhile ago I was doing some research and found that someone was in the process of making a converter to make the speedo work.

I wonder if this guy is selling any of his stuff. He'd make tons on money when he does. I'd buy a KPH to MPH converter, but I am already used to KPH.

Someone show us a video of the speedo actually working in a Civic and then i'll believe it, but so far I've not seen any proof it can be done.

...and if it is possible I don't think it's a normal joe Blow type project that can be done in one's garage.

That one link to the guy who converts the clusters in Europe gives me the impression he's some computer/electronics geek, and there's still no vid of the speedo working. I'm sure it's not hard to make the speedo read "125mph" when it's out of the car if you already know how to reset the odometer.

BTW:

Back when the internet was an infant my friend had already put an S2000 cluster in his Civic CX - this was probably 2001, so it's not a new idea by any means. His name is Shane Minko, and some of you OGs may remember pics i posted up years ago with the cluster in his car.

He never did get the speedo to work either...

I'm with Tom on this one. I've never seen any proof that you can get the speedo to work, and hoenstly, I don't even think the dash looks that good and don't understand why everyone would kill themselves trying to figure this out.

the problem with puttin an s2k cluster into an eg or anything else is that you have to take all the analog electronics from your eg and change them to digital which is why the speedo was always off on that crx.

Usually I try to reserve calling something "easy" only after i've done it myself.

Have you ever tried to get everything on an S2K cluster to function properly in a Civic?

If it was that easy there'd be one in every other Civic since there are a lot of clusters floating around the net and local salvage yards.

Do you not remember what forum you're in man? This is the biggest concentration of people who have little to no experience on the stuff they talk about. I see so much bad advice handed out here that honestly, I don't even come here to ask technical questions anymore because they either get ignored or don't get answered correctly anyway.
