Is a type-r head the same as a port polished b16a head??. Should send my b16a to port flow or should I get a type-r head for my ls/vtec setup?? Which would be better?
Well the Type-r head only has the bowls around the valve opening polished. If you have portflow do your B16A head and then install ITR valves you will have a better flowing type-r head.

Will all the commponets from a b16a head fit a type-r head such as valve cover, the stuff that holds down the cams and every thing else?

The casting of the head is identical between the B16A and B18C5, it is the light porting, intake manifold, intake valves, cams, valve springs, Throttle body and exhaust manifold that make the differance.
