One of the worst engine builders I have seen.. He's ruined 2 different pro-stock motors from 2 different teams I know of. PM Gophast here on Ht and ask him.. Or the guys from Larry Herring's crew.
He beam polished a set of rods in a race motor from side to side instead of the length of the rod.. THIS WEAKENS THE ROD..

Call it hating if you want.. IT'S THE TRUTH ....

KMS IS LOCAL to us, hes a shitty engine builder.

He is a LIAR and a CHEAT. i tore down a customer of his motor and its at DONFs shop right now so he can vouch.

he told them it was bored over, it wasnt.
He said he balanced it , he didnt.
He was WAY off on piston to wall clearance and it fucked the sleeves up
He used the wrong bearings, and it spun EVER ROD BEARING in the motor.
Mains were the wrong bearings as well, only spun half of those.

all this within 500miles.

Or how about 2 years ago he was going to build this crazy all motor setup for a kid locally. he told him he would put CTR pistons in it and ITR cams etc. He built the motor, kid picked it up, 1000 miles later, it threw a rod. kid and his friends tore it down, and it had STOCK pistons and STOCK CAMS. he put his "racing" valvetrain in it and that was all.

or how about that every motor he touches blows up cause hes too fuckig lazy to measure or do anything right. he knows his reputation sucks, and he doesnt care, he would rather sell things on ebay.

He sucks, BTW his valvetrain is REPACKEGED SUPERTECH STUFF that he sells for double the money.

That pretty much sums it up..
He built my buddies prostock motor with os valves and never bother to check piston to valve clearance with his KMS custom cams. First time my buddy hit vtec the vlaves hit the releifs in the pistons which were to small for the size of the os valve.. Blew the motor instantly.

you do know his "custom cams" are Crower off the shelf cams right? at least thats what they are here.

i had a friend a while back get a motor built back then, Kauffman said " i got these nasty camshafts i just made and they are my specs, i had crower make them for me". 2 days later he ordered a set of Crower stage 3s from Nopi that ended up in his motor. Reason i knew was cause KMS was dumb enough to give him the box to the camshafts and it had a nopi part number on it.

I have his KMS stock relpacement SS valves and I havent had a problem! So he is not the best engine builder! But his parts aren't too bad. To the best of my knowledge he gets his parts from the same place other big name Co.s do and is obviously cheaper. So would I go with getting SS valves from him sure, valve springs and retainers maybe. Cams no!

i still wouldnt support a liar and a cheat that continues to expletive people over. I know cause as i said hes LOCAL to my state. i know and have seen his CRAP work. it isnt HEARSAY, its I KNOW FOR A FACT.

tell you waht, go have a motor built by him, wait 8 months , then have it blow up, then call me and DonF when you need it rebuilt.

Just because it's cheap, doesn't mean it's worth a ****.

hastings rings are what most companies send out with their pistons
