Accord rear window issue?
Hi all,
Usually never roll down the rear windows but for some reason decide to last night.
Well, the rear passenger window now won't close up all the way. It goes up and comes down ok but when trying to close it stays open about a half inch.
From what I've read is the window regulator motor shot? How can I try to force the window up and closed? Seems like it won't budge right now.
Thanks,
Mike

On my CB7, I"m having problems with both my rear windows, either going up or down. The plastic window seals is the problem with mine. The window isn't sliding in them correctly and therefore, are being prevented from moving. I'm gonna look for new seals. Don't know if this is your problem or not.
I've sprayed WD40 in most areas I think it would help. That has helped a little bit but the window still won't close all the way by about a 1/4 inch. I've tried forcing it up myself by hand, even a screwdriving as a lever to force upward...and the window just don't go up any further. I hear the motor trying to push it further up when I hit the switch but it just isn't moving....I'm stumped.

If it runs up and down it is most likely not the motor, rather I suspect the channels the window rides in may require cleaning. There was a responce in a previous thread regarding slow / binding front windows which related this. Lubricating may get you temporary relief, but long term tends to attract dirt and crud making it a continuing problem.

Thanks for the info.
What is the best way to clean the channels? Does the whole window need to come out?
Well, I just took the window out and realized there is a piece of plastic that holds the window snug to the sliding mechanism that was crack/broken. Can I just replace the plastic parts or is the motor assembly an all in one deal?
Now I've gotta try to get the window closed up and held in place incase it rains! I don't feel like taping shut the 1/4 inch that won't close!
Thanks,
Mike
