Default Never thought I would do it... (mis-shift story)

I never thought I could be so dumb... but yea....
From 3rd to 4th, missed fourth, popped back out, im retarded and put it in 2nd. Let out clutch. Sounds like a motorcycle... push in clutch. ::thinks to myself:: 'holy **** im retarded'

Yea so I have to really force my car into gears now, some (1 & 2) don't really take it in. Also, 3, 4, & 5 grind and I have to rev it up to get it to take it into gear. Ive read mis-shift stories, but none that affect only the transmission. I have a B18C with an s80 tranny, act 8.8lb flywheel, competition clutch. The motor sounds ok, no ticking, just the trannys fucked. I'm dropping it tomorrow to see. I'm sure it'll be worthy of some photos.

It's really shitty because I can no longer really say I'm a good driver. It just sucks.

Ouch, you don't have a limiter?

Pretty sure a limiter won't matter. B/c the engine keeps going to god knows but the limiter is just the fuel cut off or something

I remember reading a thread where some kid misshifted in his RSX and fucked the motor up and Acura was possibly not warrantying it. But either way the limiter did not save his ***

Yea it's got a limiter, but when you mis-shift, a limiter isn't a sure-way of protecting your motor.

Thanks for the support lol, I'll get pics up as soon as I drop the trans. I'm thinking it's the gears, which I was told are pretty cheap from Honda. Only time will tell...

Yeah, I'm retarded. The tranny still spins as fast as the motor will let it. Didn't think about that til after.

rev limiter only protects the car while accelerating. misshifting mechanically forces the motor to over-rev.

Even good drivers have their bad days.

Time to change the clutch - a spring or two is probably about to pop out.

man...I though tranny wont let you down shift unless you step on the clutch pedal really long to get it in. So you know not to MIS-SHIFT.

Oh well... **** happens.

I missed 4th, and for some reason wrapped my hand around the right side, causing me to pull it towards me. I just got in a hurry basically and fucked up. We started to pull the trans last night but it was late and we got tired so we'll finish it up tonight.

ive mis shifted a few times, but i usually always let off slow on clutch, so i catch mine before they hit 6k or so
