sup guys this will be the 3rd crx im gonna be building. my buddy is hooking me up with a 97 h22 block for 50 bucks and were gonna build it with mild parts. we can do all the cutting, welding and everything, but i just wana know if its worth it. money really isnt a problem im just curious wether i should do this or build a b16 or something instead. give me some feed back.

Did you just say the h22 is 150 to 200lbs heavier than a b series?

If you use an H series block/head and use the H to B adapter plate, it is MAX, 50 lbs heavier.

Back on topic: Go for the H-series. Take the road less traveled.

If you've got the money do it. Just make sure to put a B-Series tranny on it. Otherwise, an ITR swap would be the ****.

thanks for the replys guys, ive been doing some research and so far i need a h22 a1 head to go with this block. since im rebuilding if this is right do i need to sleve it? money is not a problem but i dont wana go ***** to the wall. im not doing this for a drag car or a road course, so far the pros and cons of it all, it seems worth it.

i rode in a buddy's 95 coupe with an h22 that was stock and loved it. so i think iim going with the "duce duce" haha. im gonna start a list soon once i get all the info i need and search some more about parts.

Yeah and... Whats your point, drivers make a huge difference in road courses. Plus how many crx or hatches have h22 that road race ?

Ok back on the h22 swap subject.

Its getting easier and easier to do this swap, wait a little and you will see some mount kits for this swap very very soon.

Just my complete honest opinion.

For a DD I would think an EG chasis would be better for the taller H motors and K motors. I've never driven in an H powered eg or ef nor a k powered ef or eg so I'm just speculating. However, if I were to build another car, I would love to go K20a EG (probably search for a 92 cx shell)

The hasport H22 handled very well so handling is an issue that can be overcome in an EF.

For a track car, I don't think it really matters b/c comfort and convience are of little concern. Just build within your budget............heck, no matter what, build within your budget. I don't think I can stresst that enough.

well yea i kind of got a budget, b/c im not gonna get a loan for this. im gonna be moving out soon so i'll be staying home alot, so i can do this thing. plus i don't wana do a k20 or something with an eg there all over where i live. i know people do crx with DD but this is somehting i wana do, and really getting excited about it.

i just got done taking the crank out, and gettin it ready for an acid dip. now i gotta find a head and im gonna buy some other small parts like oil cap, and cams.

i guess i need to get a digi cam for all this when i start...eh

You bet!!! I love to see photo albums of build ups, especially when everything is a DIY job.
