right now i just have intake/headers/straight pipe.
but i will probably drop in CTR/ITR cams by next week. so would it really be worth getting a TB?

yes. without a doubt it will be a waste. i've seen people make 400+whp FI with 60mm t/b's.

throttle bodies are a waste unless you have some monster underneath your hood. Only thing they usually do on hondas is increase throttle response.

is it a noticable throttle response difference?..

my turbo setup:
b16
low comp. pistons
eagle rods
stock crank
RC440's
gt28rs turbo
full-race prostreet manifold w/ a/c
p28/s300
CTR/ITR cams
CTR/ITR valvetrain

im just looking to build a daily driven car but a monster on the weekends...

All damn you have a turbo motor so you will definitely make more power. I thought this was for NA application.

yea, ive heard many great things about him. i was probably gonna send my TB to him probably next monday. anyways, how big would you guys recommend it? im probably going to be running intake/headers/cams until i turbo, so i would like the throttle body to help now, and help even more when i turbo.

also, what does everyone think about the skunk2 pro-series cams...?? thanks.

I'd leave it alone. A v8 running a turbo only needs a 65mm for it's greatest power gains. I don't like the thought of you spending your money on opening up the tb and not needing it.

well i have a fully built gsr i sent mine to him the work and turn around time is the best but if you get a intakemanifold i would just get it port matched and if you send him your gsr or b16 TB he can make it 2mm bigger then the type r.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by andysila &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

Thorttle Bodies are a WASTE!!!! I go to automotive school, so we actullay studied the effects of different thorttle bodyies on V-8 motors. The motors had bolt-ons and we tested out 4 different TB's and ran the car on our school dyno. All the aftermarket TB's saw a loss in power. Well actually there were slight gains in top end or bottom end, depending on the size of the TB. But the rest of the power band will suffer except for either top or bottom end. Reason being is that although a larger TB can suck in a larger volume of air, the pressure of the air coming in is less(because the engine is just not simply making huge hp). The best TB for a Honda (I believe) would be a Type R TB. 62mm is just about the right size. Not unless you have a 400hp motor, then the larger throttle bodies will be ok becasue there's enough power to suck in air and with the right amount of pressure.

Also, if u really want a big TB that works. Get a Spoon, because although it's 70mm. The TB tapers inward to 62mm so you can still suck in the large volume of air but still have the same amount of pressure as a stock TB. That's the only other "big" TB I think can work well on an N/A Honda motor

I do the same design has spoon keeping the stock plate size and running an agressive taper. If anyone cares it just made 4 whp on a stock b16a. It was customers car so I dont have the dyno off hand.

Yea, a Type R is all you need unless your planning on making more than 400 hp at the wheels. My buddy has a GSR making 346 wHP with a stock GSR 60 mm TB and 10lbs of boost. It was actually run on the dyno at The Whip Factory here in IL. Also with OEM TB's you won't have to worry about the TB butterfly sticking. I've experianced this with a couple aftermarket TB's, so I just switched to a Type R 62 mm TB. If you need it any bigger, you can always get it bored.

1 more time keep your stock tb and just send it to max bore for a $100. he'll port it alittle bigger then the type r. if you buy the type r your going to spend way more money then the other way.

yea i guess that's true too. Getting a stock TB bored works. But if you don't have a TB. You can find a ITR TB for under $200 on ebay.
