Default Another Stolen Car...

okay, please lets not make a huge deal out of this, i wasnt originally going to post this because of all the recent thefts lately, but i have some questions that need answering, and i need your honest opionion...my car was recovered soon after it was stolen...nothing horribly serious, it was stripped almost bare...i was wondering if you guys think it will be repaired, or totaled...

the car is a 99 LS, with 40k miles, i will list everythign missing...or at least everyhting i saw when they found it...
-front and rear bumpers
-headlights, and taillights
-side mirrors
-guage cluster, and steering wheel/air bag
-climate control, and all stereo equip
-all plastics in car (door panels, etc.), including center console
-front and rear seats, rear cargo cover, and trunk carpet
-even my spare tire and jack!

well, i think thats about it, i dont know what else is missing because i didnt get more time to look, thats what i saw...the car was basically gutted out...just let me know what you guys think...thanks for your help!

Have them total it then buy it back. You can get the money for the car and fix it up.

well to be honest guys im looking for a total, because this is now the second time its been stolen and recovered...both times in front of my house...the first time i think it was because of my bling'bling 17 inch bronze CP8's that someone jacked, as well as the new stereo that was in it...this second time, my car was almost stock...i just dont want a car that has been stolen twice already if ya know what i mean...my friend that owns a body shop says theyll repair it, but i dont think he realizes just how much is missing from the car...seriously, its bare metal inside...

this is probably a dumb question, but you did have an alarm that disables the ignition when armed right?

I say get it repaired and fiw it up nice! Then go out and buy yourself a gun. I would suggest a 44 magnum, and handle your business next time they come around. I don't think they will total the car.

Get the money and buy another car.
Nothing like the feeling of driving the car that has been raped previously.

yes i had an alarm, but unfortunately it was disabled at the time, i lost my keys with my remote, and had to disable my alarm manually and use my spare key for a few days...

and yes, id love to get the car paid off, and go out and buy another car...i seriously dont want this one after all that has happened...

and actually, the only thing left in the car is the dashboard...with the passanger side airbag, otherwise theres nothing but some dust...

yeah, i was thinking about that, what do they do, give me a new cluster with 000,000 miles on it? i honestly had to tell them that there was 40,xxx miles on the car, i dont want to lie and get in trouble...i just cant picture the insurance company buying me brand new OEM front and rear bumpers, headlights, taillights, mirrors, and FULL interior, including all nuts and bolts, power lock controls, power mirror controls, etc. that seems like it would be over $9k...and thats way more than half the value of the car...

I don't want to sound negative but that can be a good thing. With that money you can make your car very nice. Who needs all that stock stuff?

to be totally honest, i dont race my car...i use it as a means of transportation to get to school and work...and i try and take really good care of it...i dont want to take a check, keep the interior gutted, and buy two race seats to buzz around a parking lot a few times a month...and, i dont even own the car, i make payments...so it wouldnt be the smartest thing for me to do...best scenario, car gets totalled, i pay it off, buy an old civic hatch, and fix that up...this way i dont feel like im ruining an almost brand new car by ripping the seats and motor apart...

w/ the price of the front and rear seats and the front and rear bumpers along w/ the air bag.. i think your car is a goner.. their probably going to total it because the interior alone is pretty expensive (retail) and the front and rear bumpers + the air bag..

It will look good to the creditors if you pay it off now. Then you can get excellent financing for whatever you want to buy.

I would say it will be totalled... most definatly... gauge cluster and all the interior.... that's a lot of money. The sad thing is, the ******** that stole it will probably sell everything for less than $1,000. Someone stole your car to use it for parts for their own integra... sounds like they have scratch up side panels, high mileage, and a 94-97 since they took your newer steering wheel.

I would try to buy it back if the price was right. You could easily sell it to someone as a track car, or daily driven gutted street racer... Especially with those low miles.
