Default D16A8 - EURO MOTOR (ROVER) ????

I've never heard or seen this motor before. I did a quick search on the motor and it appears to be 130+hp motor. I sure would like to own this...apparantly is very rare in the states.

Can anyone (in the UK) paste a picture of what type Rover this motor would go into?

I am pretty sure that it is the same as the black top ZC DOHC that honda put in the crx si's in japan.

Your somewhat correct. I jut found this. pretty interesting.

So if anyone has a ZC (DOHC) engine and wants to make it exotic..put a A8 valve cover over it.

And it gets even spookier.. Rover 416's look almost like an EF 4g4d.

i have one its a d16a8 from a rover gti 416.it does have a funky valve cover when i frist got it i was like wtf is that!i got in a 91 crx si,its a very strong running motor.i have talked to a kid in the uk which has the same thing in his rex and he says the rover engine is missquted in the us it isnt 130hp he said it was 140hp.on the inside of the enigne is almsot the same as the jdm zc just some what stronger.i enjoy having it cause its not seen very much.if anyone would like to see a pic of this engine let me know i got some.or theres a pic on ebya just serach dohc zc or d16a8.but in my advice very good engine i havent had one bit of trouble out of it yet.

This is good to know, because wow..being able to swap my A6 for an A8 and still keep the OBD 0 set up. I may even be able to get away with smogging as well.

Having something different from everyone else is key to me...makes me feel like I'm the only one who has it in my area, which would be the case. Expense wise I wonder if its cheaper as compared to finding an LS motor.

Smogging...good luck. A lot of people have issues getting the dohc ZC to pass. Some manage, but even if its running 100% right, failure is a possibility you should prepare for.

As far as being different...overrated. Especially if you're looking for help/info.

A dohc zc is certainly cheaper than a LS. No mount kit or transmission needed with the zc.
