Default turbo on a 01 prelude

so im thinking about going turbo on my prelude. i know im going to get a t3 turbo and im looking on this site to buy it http://www.turbocalculator.com/sale-garrett.php. im just not sure about the other stuff. such as what compresser trim i should get and A/R and if i need an internal or external wastegate. i know you guys know a lot more about this than me. any help would be appreciated.

i've heard some bad stuff about that website in particular.

do some research before buying from them.

also. you should look at other turbo prelude setups. see what they run as far as wastegates, turbo sizes, etc.
no one is gonna explain everything to you, so i suggest using the search feature a lot.

Good Luck! and honestly, a lot of things that i know now about forced induction was gathered here on honda-tech or on homemadeturbo.com. All it takes is some reading.

The Prelude is an excellent platform in order to turbo provided that the right parts and tuning are used. going cheap or finding other roundabout ways to just save cost can do just that: COST in the long run. Find out a bit on what you want to do with the car (street/strip, fun street predator, circuit course, or drag strip) and find out what you want to get out from it.

Start to then look at the kind of budget that you have, or can obtain over time. Don't skimp out on the important things to retain reliability. Be careful.... The H22A is a bit delicate in the sleeves, so it can't take the high cylinder pressures as the other B-Series Motors. Here is an example (I've Probably shown this before a couple of times)

Stock H22A Turbo, custom kit
550cc RC Injectors
AEM Pulley (Car was originally NA)
AEM FPR

TIAL BOV w/ TIAL .6bar wastegate

Custom Garrett T3/T04E STC "Red Pill" Turbo Ceramic coated and polished

298whp @ 245ft/lbs at 8.5psi on 2.5" Downpipe and 2.5" exhaust using E-manage on stock ECU. even kept A/C and Power Steering

Nothing wrong with E-manage, it's a fine platform, especially for those that for whatever reason must keep the stock ECU in the car.
