Default Safe to weld traction bar on?

so my traction bar likes to wiggle my bolts out, and when i try to tap new holes, it feels like its not even gripping on anything. So would it be safe to just weld the front bar on? the bar bolts into where the front tow hooks would go, Lcon bar on a crx.

it feels like its not even threading in, like its going through sheet metal only then stripping, and i wouldn't feel safe driving like that, so i was wondering if welding would be safe.

yup you could weld it no problem. I would weld in a new steel plate with threaded bosses, so you can bolt it up like normal incase you sell it or something.

i mentioned doing this to a friend of mine but he was iffy about it, said that they might have to give a lil, but just so i don't **** up the geometry of my car then its gettin welded, i am tired of this downtime!

My tractoin bars (custom) run right againt the unibody.. so i stich welded it to the body and also welded the tow hook part on.. the front end should be nice and stiff now They are out of the way of everything so i dont see a problem with welding them on.

Actually, I'd say it's more safe to weld them on than not to.. the tow hooks put a shearing force on the bolts - and they weren't designed to be used like this seven days a week (is this going on a street car?). This is why I like the Z-10 bars the best..

Just use the right welder w/ enough penetration to make it safe. I would agree that a good weld is as safe, or safer, than bolt on.
I would go to a metal fab shop before i went to an actual car shop.

*UPDATE*
Just got my traction bar welded on, and it makes no more noises, no more clunking nothing, its solid, i love it. i recomend it to anyone have the same problems, or if they want a more stable traction bar.

The burn mark is from the weld on the other side. And yes thats my bolt hanging out.

Other side^

Again bolt hanging out.
These welds were done in about 5 mins. So nothing pretty but holds up great so far. and nothing was taken off. the dude who welded it just manuvered around my radiator.
hope u like. o and here's a pic of my car overall, sicne i never posted a pic of it on here.
