Depends if they are selling the car in the pictures or in the description. Pictures are of a PY R. But description doesn't match the R. There have been occurances that car lots didn't know what they had and ended up selling an ITR for book or less. I would try calling, can't hurt. Chances are it's gone already. Good Luck.

 

when i was looking for my R I came across many "cheap" ones. Then I would look on the block and it would say B18b....or B18C1. Many Rs r rebuilds and don't have the 195hp we're looking for....

No, it's an ITR VIN. the DC231 identifies it as an ITR, and the 10th digit identifies the year. A "Y" would be a 2000. This is a 2001 since it has a "1" as the 10th digit.

The Auto Trader makes mistakes all the time. Did anyone ever think the Auto Trader left out the 1 in front of the 7 when they posted the ad. I have had the Auto Trader mess up my ads a few times.

Yes, but how come the most recent record in the CARFAX report says it was offered for sale by a dealership in SC?

 

Call them up (the number in the description, not in the pop-up window) and tell them you'd like to arrange to look at it. If they refuse, then it's a scam. If the phone number isn't legitimate, then it's a scam.

There are lots of scams these days, with cars put up for sale at a price significantly lower than market. They steal the VIN and photos from a legitimate listing. They're from out of the country (always "temporarily" overseas for a job, LOL). And they usually ask for a deposit of a lower amount (often $2800), low enough so that law enforcement doesn't bother tracking them down when it turns out to be a scam.

For some reason, I was thinking the "Y" was the marker. Since mine was a 2000, it just stuck in my head like that.

Well, based on the CARFAX report, there is an excellent chance it has well over 62,000 milles on it. If the odo did turn over, and he isn't disclosing it, he could be up to his eyeballs in poo if he gets caught.

 

I bet they got rid of a possible Salvage title that Car Fax didnt catch

 

ok i work with an insurance company and pulled up the vin with one of our progams,

it shows on 5-16-01 the owner of the veh was involved in an accident with a 92 mitsu diamante. the driver of the r was a female and was killed as a result of the accident
