It's ALIVE!
Well, after four weeks at the cage builder, seven weeks at the body shop and five absolutely insane days in the home garage, the Civic is alive and on track again.
Here is a preliminary picture of the car at Mosport (all Hail corner 2!) this weekend. Will have before/after pics of the car/cage and interior soon.
Just gotta download all 5 megs out of the digital camera..

Um, maybe you can re-size the rest of the (what I'm sure will be killer) photos to a more web-friendly size. 700x700, perhaps...
Congrats on finishing the car!

that would explain the roof scoop. but 1st gen rx7's are also in GT3.
now that i look at some pics of a GT3 RX7, you're right, it's a porsche. the shorter front end gives it away, but the slant-nose certainly through me off.

The shape of the hood and the little plastic grille right in front of the windshield should've done it for you. And you call yourself an automotive enthusiast. Psht.

Oh please take closeups of how you mounted your rear wing. I've been going through all kinds of wing mount/base designs and would love to see a race worthy mounting job.
My issue is I'm trying to make mine easy to remove and remount stock wing... so i can just put it on for track days

Yah, but I'm curious as to how and how it is supported. It does have to endure alot of stress/leverage back there if its on the stock location points.
I actually took a spare wing and used it as a base for an additional wing... and found it was way to flimsy of a support. So i'm looking into different ways of mounting and support.

except she has an overbite Mr Ed would be envious of.
jk...
of course, it's amazing how people respond when they see a picture of a chick, even if it's a 3/4 quarter picture and you can hardly see her face.

the apr style wings have these candy cane shaped flat brackets that slip over the edge of the hatch and a couple of screws are tightened down. no actual holes are made on the ones I've see and it's pretty strong

Ya, it just fits over the leading edge of the rear hatch. Not very strong. It lays flat quite a bit at speed. It will be mounted on the roof before the next event, and mounted much much higher (actually in the air stream

awesome pix....awesome car..... wish my Civic was looking like that....
May I request a pic of the dash installed? I'd like to see how everything fit together.
I had my dash bar run down low and it seems like, in your pix, it was possible to keep the heater core when I was told by my cage builder "No" if I wanted to place it where you did.
