You were sure spewing some oil the other weekend, toots.

My engine is PURE STOCK, and doesn't burn any oil, even in VTEC (is there some other way to drive?)

haha yesyes it does do that from about 6700 till bout 9600 when I left off. I do believe it's running too rich right now though. Tuning might be a factor. I dunno how much for the oil burning though.

My ITR has consumed oil to some degree since day one. Now, after 40K boosted, she drinks it and blows it out her ***. Usually she'll blow a little smoke under load when she's cold, once she's hot, she holds it in pretty well. Still scoots like a banshee though. Forged internals, here I come!

I'll be the first one to say BS.

Every B series VTEC I've owned burned oil. If you knew how it worked, you'd understand why.

I find it hard to believe that after every oil change you guys measure the quarts out and all have 4.2xxwhatever quarts left.

BTW a poll isnt going to solve anything, if you need to come on H-T and make a poll where the #1 poll answer for 4 years used to be "SWED" then you need to go read some more books.

Think what you please. However, I do not need to add any oil what-so-ever between changes. I am also under 5.5psi boost.

Says the guy with a booster R. Sure you dont *need* to add oil.

This is so stupid though.

Thanks for continuing to post to this.

Yes, I realize that there are many factors that may lead to a car smoking/burning oil. The purpose of this poll is to find out what percentage of Type R owners find their car burning oil or smoking. Then to find out if these cars are running factory or aftermarket / shop built motors.

Please keep adding your thoughts to the poll!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps your experience says something about the owner of those engines. I really don't appreciate you effectively calling me a liar, so take your "BS" and shove it where the sun never shines.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by KOALA YUMMIES &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I find it hard to believe that after every oil change you guys measure the quarts out and all have 4.2xxwhatever quarts left. </TD></TR></TABLE>
Of course not, don't be an ***. All I meant (and what I'm sure at least 90% of those reading understood) is that I have never seen any noticable drop in oil level between changes. That is in stark contrast to many who burn 1 or more quarts between changes.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by KOALA YUMMIES &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">BTW a poll isn't going to solve anything, if you need to come on H-T and make a poll where the #1 poll answer for 4 years used to be "SWED" then you need to go read some more books.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Of course it's not going to "solve" anything, but data is data, and it must be gathered before it can be analyzed. If someone wants to draw conclusions from this data, then that is their business. If you don't wish to contribute your datapoint then don't.

I don't care if anyone says that they don't burn oil. Even if you think you don't, it is all about how you drive. No matter what, there is something about 8500rpm that just makes oil disappear.

Lame thread by the way.

Ok well in that case heres my data, last oil change was after 7,000 mi, 4 HPDEs, 2 Auto-X and a 30 hour drive across country. I ended up with 5 quarts. on this and you. And in case you werent aware, anyone can vote in this poll so theres a margin of error by 90%.

It comes naturally in the face of stupid threads like these.

I agree completely, this thread will not settle anything at all. I also think that anyone who considers the poll conclusize has an IQ well below their age. However, I think such a poll can be an interesting base for discussion on the subject. You are, of course, free to disagree and state your views. There is, however, no need to act like an obnoxious kid and hijack the thread, so grow up!
