Default Omni Master Cylinder Clutch!

ok well, just wanted to check in, i waited 1 month without my car to get this part instead of the oem unit. I installed it properly, it worked properly for 1 week. My clutch pedal began to sink to the floor like it did with the blown oem part. I therefore figured it had to be my master slave cylinder so i replaced it. Spent 3 days trying diff bleed methods and playing around with everything i could. I then said **** it, and removed the omini master cylinder sense something obviously wasnt right at the start.
surely enough, after 3 days without my car, countless headahces, backaches and so fourth the brand new unit from Omni is already broken, i put 75 miles on it

the cylinder is seized, the rod seems to be broken internally and not attached to the cylinder.......guess i get to call first thing tomarrow mourning and see how long im without my car........again

Same exact damn thing happened to me last week. It installed fine, and worked for about a day and a half. I noticed the clutch pedal slowly getting lower to the floor.

I go get a hair cut for 20 min. walk outside back to my car, and the clutch pedal is on the floor. After pumping/cursing at the pedal for 5 min. It rises enough for me to drive home safely.

I popped the hood and attempted to bleed my clutch for a while w/ no luck. no liquid was coming out of the clutch slave cylinder. I tried different bleeding methods but the brake fluid was never being sucked down through the system passing through the clutch master cylinder.

I disconnected the line leading out of the MC. and just tested to see if the MC would suck/squirt out the brake fluid from the reservoir... no luck.

Luckily Omni has a 5 year warranty on this, and Peter at Import Auto Performance just told me to send in the faulty unit to them today in exchange for a brand new one... we'll see...

After you get your replacement installed and have driven w/ it for a while, check in here and post if it's running strong or having the same symptoms as before.

I'll make sure to post up my experiences w/ my replacement MC.

BTW: Where did you purchase yours?

The product is still new, and this is the first negativity I've heard about it. I'll know in due time when i receive my replacement MC if Omni designed a poor product or not.

If these break on me again, is it possible to return them for a refund?
(3:49 PM 8/10/2005) peteriap: Absolutely. The problem is being looked into now and we will keep all of our customers up to date on any findings.

(3:53 PM 8/10/2005) VX: thank you so much man. I'll keep in touch with you and others about my experiences w/ my replacement MC.

(3:53 PM 8/10/2005) peteriap: Sounds good. OMNI may be coming out with a <FONT SIZE="12">revision</FONT>, do you want to wait on that one? I would imagine that you do. Let me know.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Looks like they're faulty after all!
And a revision is in the progress!
My car is currently a brick.
Peter @ IAP for taking care of his customers.

Wow, this sucks. I was really considering one down the road sometime . Even if there is a revision this is something that should be caught in testing. It really sucks blowing a master cylinder. One day after school I got in my car and I had no pedal pressure and there was fluid all over my floor. I made it home with about a millimeter and a half of clutching, I bet I really toasted it then.

I PM'd Omniman to see if he would join this thread. No response yet...

Your right though, Omnipower has an excellent reputation. Looks like they sent this to the market too fast.

I don't see why, not like there's any other aftermarket companys to compete with to release such a product. Hmmm...

hehehe that sux dude, im one of the first ones to have this. but i havent had the time to install it.. I wonder if I should wait and have it replaced with a revision one. what you guys think? havent heard of many broken ones yet, but i have a bad feeling. I got mine from Kteller, and he says its lifetime warranty. but if i havent even installed it yet? and its considered not broken what warranty covers that?

With this level of incompetence, I'm staying away from buying omniman products in the future. I suggest everyone does the same as well...

At first I was hearing great things about Omnipower but after a bad rap with the suspension just last week and now this... I was considering getting some stuff and now I'll just stick OEM for the time being.

After hearing so many good things about Omniman himself, I don't think he would release a faulty product that hasn't been road tested.

I want to hear from Omni himself before I make a conclusion.
