Default clutch/flywheel tranny first impressions

Got my car back today with my new toda fly exedy clutch and si tranny. Clucth engagement is low and smooth, rev build and drop very quickly. I had to learn to upshift giving it gas quicker because the rpms would drop too low in between shifts. One weird thing, I feel like i have a shirt shifter now. The gears seem to be spaced slightly closer and the throws are shorter then with the gsr tranny. RPMs are right where they are suppoused to be, 5th gear 40mph 2200 instead of 2000. I'm not going to rev it higher than 3k until everything is properly broken in. 49 miles so far only 451 to go My mech also inspected my act that was in there, 4 months and about 10k miles of use. The throwout bearing was pretty much shot according to him, "dried up" was the expression he used? Pressure plate was fine, the disc showed signs of wear but was in ok condition. Probably would have lasted a while still. The bearing definately needed to be replaced. Oh well now i have a backup clutch. One more thing, I also had him do a compression test, between 185 and 190 on all 4cylinders. I was pretty happy with that considering it has a little over 100k miles. Thats about it, sorry for the long post

So is the si tranny better than a teg's tranny? Why?

As far as the Si tranny is concerned, it does have a shorter throw much like the ITR tranny.

The Si tranny (SC4) has shorter ratios ala Type R. I didnt know that the throws would be shorter. Interesting.

I'm thinking the reason you are feeling shorter throws is becuase the linkage is properly adjusted. I'm almost sure there isn't any reason that the distance the shifter moves between gears would be different.
