Default lsvtec wont start HELP!

eg hatch: obd0 b16 head, obd1 ls block, obd0 b16 intake manifold and throttle body, obd 1 b16 distributor, obd 1 ls fuel rail and injectors, obd1 map sensor hooked up by a short vacuum line, GE lsvtec kit and headgasket, gsr cams, chipped ecu, ls timing belt water pump oil pump

well i got it all put together but for some reason it didnt start. i tried starting it a couple of times but all it does is sounds like it wants to start but doesnt.. just keeps cranking. also tried the chipped ecu and the ls.. no luck. i cant figure out whats wrong. the ls motor was working fine.. all i did was switch up the head. i know its getting fuel cause i can hear it priming and smell it but its just not starting. any ideas what could be happening or anything i should be looking for? what should i do? help please! thanks

do you have good plugs in it? did you get it in time? is it getting any fire? try checking to see if it gets any fire it may be a bad coil or igniter

are you for sure that the car is in time? usually a car needs fuel timing and fire to start so it has to be one of those to get it to run

yes................in time means the cams are in time with the crank. and how about the dist.? when you have the motor at top dead center, is the rotor button pionting at the number one plug wire? ive seen some dist. go into hondas both ways you might have it 180 degrees out of time

well i got it to start by messing with the ignition timing but it barely runs like its weak as **** and the valves are ticking loud like a diesel. for some reason i think the motor isnt at tdc even though we checked it a million times when it wasnt running. the reason why i think it isnt is because when i checked the ignition timing it was way b4 the tdc white line like in the middle of no where also the under hood temps are hotter than normal

took it to a mechanic today and he said we did it right and its at tdc. but he was also like maybe we have to turn the crank a full turn and line it up there and see what happens. so i guess we'll find out if thats the solution tomorrow. the car runs like complete *** right now.. it can barely move

hold the throtle half open from under the hood and get someone to crank the car over while you do that, once you do that, keep the car running by manually holding the throtle open enough to keep it running and adjust the throtle cable.
I had to do the same thing.
