Default Resetting bushings.. need quick help please.

Ugh, search function never seems to be able to turn up what I need when I need it.
I'm reinstalling my coilovers today, and to protect my lca bushings I want to "reset" them. What is the process exactly?
I've got the car jacked up, and the coilovers installed but nothing tightened down. So I jacked up the LCA to put some load on everything, but the bushings already twist... is this right?

to reset your bushings, put the car on 4 jackstands. take the wheels off. loosen the suspension bolts. put a jack under one of the suspension corners and raise it until that corner is off the jack stand. bounce the car a bit. then tighten. dont forget to tighten a bolt youve already loosened.

Sounds like I got it right... right? I did the rears only (had the entire rear up on 2 jackstands), because the fronts I did right it seems.
I tried bouncing the car, but nothing too crazy, though the bushing still looked like it was twisted a little.

which bushing? the suspension is going to droop and twist the bushings when unloaded. the point is to relax the bushing when its at the static ride height.

It was the shock bushing on the LCA. I actually had the nut tightened, I forgot to loosen it, which could explain why the passenger side was fine, and this one wasn't lol. Its all straight now. Thanks.

My friend is about to show me how to do this in like a few minutes but in the end what does it do for you?

Looks like it should prolong the life of your bushings, but not having them in a perpetual state of bind (well maybe not bind, but torqued), as they would be if these procedures were not followed. Post up how it goes, mine went fairly well.
