I'm not sure what the difference is, but they aren't exactly the sam. Basically the same power output though...

Correct me if i'm wrong but the only differance in the z6 and ZC is just the litre and displacement and maybe the.
z6=1.6 ZC=1.5
z6=1.6 ZC=1.5

What's sock?
Did not know this. Well, now I do. The Docks are decent. My neighbor across the street has a home-made turbo DOHC ZC that I think he ran a high 13 with (CRX).

There are several engines that were stamped "ZC"; all of them are JDM 1.6 liter D-series. Cam configurations were SOHC, DOHC, and SOHC VTEC. The SOHCs and DOHCs were available with either dual carbs or PGM-FI (pre-OBD and OBD-1), while the SOHC VTEC was OBD-1 PGM-FI only.
Nobody cares that you know everything about Honda's
j/k. I haven't seen you for a while. It's nice to have someone here to keep the peace.

My apologies. I always thought the commonly referred to ZC was the SOHC nonvtec, or the DOHC used as a swap most of the time in EF civics, crxs and such.
What some people may refer to as a ZC in this forum is generally a SOHC Vtec which I always take to be a D15B.
There is alot of confusion when it comes to this, I think that the poster needs to be more clear as to what engines he is talking about, and I need to make sure I don't just on someone else too quick.

im just looking for the difference between the "D16Z6" and the "1.6L SOHC VTEC ZC"
theres a twin cam non vtech zc then there is a single cam vtech zc, both are jdm. the d16z6 is almost exactly the same just the jdm single cam zc has a little more compression

If there is any difference, it is usually either the pistons or the cam. Not very likely that anything else is different. I've never seen anyone confirm a difference though. The two are so close that any difference is really negligible.

ok some1 needs to finish all these threads about this... theres 3 ZC's
a dohc NON-VTEC (my friend has one)
a sohc non-VTEC
and a sohc VTEC (i currently have one)
i had a z6 to. to my knowledge theirs like little to no difference in the z6 and ZC VTEC. i took the head off my ZC VTEC and it has p28 pistons exactly the same as z6 and if u dont believe that i had one of my ZC's pistons cracked and the rings were all fucked so i have a z6 piston in a ZC VTEC block the rods seem identicle... if theres anything different it maybe like valves or a cam or something like that but its a P28 motor it has P28 stamped on the block and isnt a z6 a p28 too. Oh and please DO NOT REPLY TO THIS AND TELL ME THERES NOT A SOHC ZC VTEC because im so tired of people telling me i bought a mini-me i know what i have and its not some japaneses kid's mini-me shipped over here.
