Alright, I searched and everyone's asking how to put a coupe exhaust on a hatch.
Well, I have a coupe, and I found the exhaust I have wanted for a long time (DC Sports). Problem is, it's for a 92-95 hatch. I have a 97 civic coupe.
I know that hatch exhausts are shorter than coupe/sedan exhausts, but where?
Are the mid-pipes the same, or the axle-backs? I want to know before I go to a muffler shop to get anything extended/welded, etc.
Here's a pic of the exhaust I want to buy (from DC's site I think):
[/QUOTE]
Here's a pic of the DC exhaust from a 99-00 Si (not sure if that fits my 97 civic EX or not):

I see how the axle-back sections are different, but I'm not sure what else is.
HELP!

Both pieces should be shorter, since both the wheelbases and the rear overhangs are different. Why don't you just get the proper exhaust for your car?

Thanks for the info, more opinions/experience please!
I just took my old Greddy EVO exhaust for my 94 coupe and put it on my 93 SI hatch. Anyhow the axle back needed to be shortened and that was all.... the mid pipe etc was a perfect fit.

This is my experience...
I just bought a Buddy Club Spec-II and the closest design available was for the EG6 (hatch), while my car is a 1994 EJ1 (coupe).
I'm using the Omnipower test-pipe, with the mid-section of the test-pipe removed and found that the b-pipe for the Spec-II fits perfect. The only part that needed to be m0dded was right before the "muffler" (it's hard to call that thing at the end of the Spec-II a muffler). It needed to be extended AFTER the rear LCA because when this pipe is bolted to the b-pipe, it clears the LCA perfectly. I just added 7-8 inches right before the muffler because the hangers on the muffler fell short of the hangers on the car.

?????
I thought it's just the axle-back that has to be lengthened, what's the big deal with that?

Dope, I can't wait to pick up this exhaust then.

And the plot thickens...
Pics of the 92-95 hatch exhaust I'm looking to buy (the midpipe):

And once again, the pic of the coupe version of the exhaust I want (mid-pipe):

The midpipes look the same!
But the hatch one I'm getting has extra piping with it...WTF I thought hatches were shorter.

the pipe from the 99-00 Si is flipped the other way....also it's looking from the front to back and not back to front like the hatch exhaust.

Well damnit...is it gonna fit or not?
I want it!
EDIT: Wait, the two pipes (yours and the Si) are the same! Their bends are identical, no matter what angle you look at it. At least, that's what I see...

I just picked up the DC Sports exhaust that I was referring to. Here's a pic of the axle-back (HUGE PIC):
From looking at the mid-pipe, it's going to be a bolt-up affair. The axle-back, however, needs to be modified as you can see in the pic. It needs to look like this:

What do you think a muffler shop would charge to cut the axle-back piping and replace it with a new section as pictured above?
