Question about slicks with tubes?
This weekend at summer slam my one slick started loosing air. About half way through the day on Saturday the slick was almost flat. I went and filled it and was good to go for the rest of the day. Sunday was a different story about every hour then went down to half hour the slick would go flat. I am running tubes in them and usually run about 7-7.5lbs of pressure. I have been using them for almost 2 years now. After every event I let all the air out of them becuase someone told me that is what you should do with tubes to help prolong the life. Not sure if that is true or not but I have been doing that.
Do you think the tubes are just old and dry rotted? How long do they usually last? Also where can I purchase new tubes? These are 13 inch bogart wheels I am running.
TIA

Can you use no tubes if you have bead locks? I figured with all of those holes in the slicks from the screws it would not hold air without tubes.

Yes. The screw is a designed to go into the bead of the tire. Not through it.
For tubes or no tubes.
Fill the tires up to 30psi.
Put anti-seize or wheel bearing grease on the screws.
Use a air ratch or 3/8 mini gun to drive the screws in.
Reduce pressure in tire. (With tubes when you air them down you'll hear air coming out of inbetween the tube and the tire (You need to get this out))
Balance.
