Crazy close call video
Holy cow!!! That E30 driver is very lucky. It doesn't seem that he saw the Viper lose control prior to it flying in front of him. That'll pucker you up a little bit.

But that viper had to be going 120mph plus, you think he turned the tires over by slamming the throttle at that speed? If so, freaking remarkable..

p.s. let all of us HPDE'ers learn a lesson: Just because you get a point, doesn't mean you need to use it. I've turned down multiple points going into braking zones, never taken one that I regret (although I did have one that was closer than I'd like.)
And, be cautious where you give a point, no matter what the closing speed of the guy behind you.

My guess is that the guy lifted off the throttle just beyond the starter's stand apex (right where the track dips down). The tail swung to driver's right, he over corrects and spins the other way right across Mr E30's nose.
Big bore cars can get real loose there if they make sloppy inputs.

I don't think he turned the wheels over... I just think he binded the suspension up at that speed when the wheel was turned slightly right....
Just a guess.
