Default overheating & large amounts of smoke from exhaust

ok well i recently tried swapping a z6 intake mani on by b7 but it didnt work out so i put the b7 back on, i turned the fuel relay on to get fuel to the filter or whatever about 2-3 times then i finally started it up..

it idled high at about 1.3K then idled at about 1K for a while...all the while it was blowing large amounts of grey/white smoke out of the exhaust.

my father reved it up but not high just a little bit and then it started to idle jump, like my IACV was going back so we shut it off and i unplugged it and plugged it again..

we started it up again (the idle jumping stopped) it idled at about 1K for a while...we waited for it to draw from the coolant resevior but it didnt. the temp was fine, right below the little emblem on the guage, little less then half.(normal) then i took it down the road, very very gently came back and let it sit there, it finally drew from the coolant resevior to fill the rad. my father reved it a little bit and the temp rose to half way, the fan never came on.. so we shut it down and im here now....

what is going on, i need help QUICKLY this is my DD. the white smoke what does it mean?? the idle is about 1K but my temp is rising. someone help please, anyone... thanks

check ur oil cap and check ur coolant..does it look kind of funny? like milk..

if so, then u have a blown HG or a cracked/warped head.

i havent even touched the head gasket, the car runs drives fine.

the temp is fine now, no temp rise. nothing

it just blows white smoke out

there is no oil in the coolant. the oil looks great not milk chocolate shake looking.

it just blows white smoke out....when it idles it does it but not too badly but when you drive it and open it up it does it profoundly.

HELP ME!!!!

i purchased a new intake mani gasket for the 1.6L and since i have it back to stock form its 1.5L setup so i went down and bought a new 1.5L gasket but its the exact same gasket as the 1.6L that is on the head/intake mani..

im sooooo confuses

all i can think of is there is a coolant passage right next to the #4 cyl on the intake manifold.. maybe you messed up or it didnt seal and the coolant is going from the passage into the #4 cyl.. check your plugs and if number 4 looks different i think that could be the problem...

good luck

Did you replace the intake manifold gasket? There are coolant lines that run in your intake manifold on the side and into the head. Also make sure you hooked up the coolant lines correctly to the IACV and manifold.

When I swapped my z6 IM with z6 head onto my b7 block, I swapped overything from my b7 IM onto my z6 IM with no problems what so ever.

no i have no idea, im just guessing that since the z6 intake mani was sitting for a while it collected **** and when i started it up it all went through and into my cat and now its just burning alot of stuff...

the smoke doesnt have a distinct smell to it, it just smells like ****.. its not my head gasket because it idles fine without a problem and no sweet smell to exhaust.

i changed out the im gasket as well. and i didnt switch up the lines because i taped them and numbered them so i wouldnt get them mixed up...

im just going to wait it out and see how the next few days look. thanks for the help guys

maybe when u swapped the intake manifold, the coolent passes dont quite line up it could be passing into the intake side of the head.
