Default Blue Dash Light Conversion Tip

If you plan on doing the color film for the tach/spedo and gas/temp gauges, dont buy BLUE film. If you use blue you will have to cut around all the red or if you dont if wont be able to been seen. You dont even have that option with the gas/temp guage. BLUE film doesnt turn it blue more of a uglier green, more like something you would through up after a bad night of drinking.

Use PURPLE instead of blue and you will get the results your looking for. You dont have to cut around the red because it makes the red a darker richer color, and the green turns into a deep blue. Theres no purplish tint at all.

Just figured I put my .02 in, i just did the conversion and was disapointed at the result when i used blue film, looked green still and you couldn't see any of the red.

Camera sucks but you can still tell.

The pictures make them all look dimmer then they are.

Good thing I haven't gotten around to that part yet. I'll grab some purple tint instead.

I used a blue film used for theatre lighting, it worked the same as yours. I didn't get an ugly green or anything. And it lasts, I did it about 1yr ago on my el gauges. Looks good anyways

that might make me try it again, the last time, i did it with blue and it came out this candy *** bright blue and i hated it.....

i already have blue leds in the climate control, sunroof/dimmer switches/cig lighter ring/hazard switch, and even on the "auto" window down button...

im trying to decide wheter i want to get the jdm climate control right now....if i put that in, i want to go back to all green inside.....unless that thing could go blue too, but i doubt i will do that.....

i want to go all green, and then get one of the apexi tachs....they light up just like the el guages do, black background and the numbers are green....

but if i dont get it, i think ill try this again, good info...

Where else can you buy this stuff? Do you just dissassemble the dash and layer it over the stuff?

Great info, someone should do a write-up on this. I'm also wondering what type of films you guys used and what you did to do get these results.

Is it designed to be window film? Does it have a sticky side? Or is it just clear plastic that i'd have to figure out how to attach myself?

If so, how'd you get it to stick?

That looks tight. But wait, did you really just apply tint on top of the meters? Or does this require some kind of dash disassembly?
