b18b1 block from a 95 SE with b16a2 head 00 si.

everytime i drive my car hard, and i shut it off, it doesnt want to start up again. no matter if i let it idle before i turn the key or what. after i let the car cool down for like 20 minutes, it starts right back up. only 1 CEL, coolant temp sensor, but that shouldnt prevent car from starting. i've gotten several opinions that it could be the stock coil. i did brand new rotor, cap, wires, and plugs. also, my car runs incredibly rich. it used 3/4 of a tank in 68 miles. i checked the plugs and theres no sign of running rich. could my stock cluster be not reading fuel properly?

When it shows 3/4 used and you go fill it up how much do you put in?? That will give you an idead of if the cluster is close or not

 

i think it might be running a little too rich while in VTEC. but what about the other question? the dizzy is an obd2 b16 dizzy so it should be able to handle at least up to 7500 where i shift at right now. theres also a new problem now. after being stagnant for a while, i go to start the car up and it backfires and feels like its misfiring. then after a while, it goes back to normal.

i just started having the same problem with my b20 vtec setup. i would also like to know why it does this. cold it starts fine and when its got heat in it it doesnt want to start. i am running uderdata and we screwd around with it a little it seems to be a little better but i didnt get a goot chance to see what it does cuz i either am going to work and it cools off or i go to school and it cools off

 

could it be uberdata? i have an uber basemap on my chip. luckily i just got my msd (thanks to JonDanger). ill hook it up and see if theres any improvement.

 

hmm well i've just recently finished my LsVtec project and i'm getting the same signal.. is thiS a SIGN..? haha and yeah when the motor is dead on cold .. it starts right up .. but when it is running .. and get's hot.. startles and so. i kinda figured it out thou.. i hold on to the ignition for a little longer then normal.. and it's alright now.. but still have to fool around with it .. but i'm thinking it's the starter.. .. thou.. cuz the starter is a used one and i'm not even using uberdata.. or watever.. and it's not tuned yet neither.. so .. lmk know what yall smart guys' think.
