how can u tell if u spun a bearing

youll hear a ticking/knocking sound at first then it'll get louder and louder in sound..especially when at high revs..or you can pull the pan and couple if not all of the bearing caps to see ..

If your motor starts pull the sparkplug wires one at a time if the noise stops you will know what cylinder is spun, or pull your oil pan and look for metal shaving's in the pan
Blue or black rod caps or main caps, lower oil pressure, or an oil analysis can tell you what metals are in your oil. Lots of copper = bearings.
If you really don't know what he's talking about, maybe you should have someone else verify it with you. Do you have any reason to think he's not telling you the truth?
