Default idea for a better limiting strap

heres my idea for a better limiting strap. The top mount needs to have a threaded rod on it that can be run through the strut tower. YOu might be able to do this in place of the factory stud for an upper strut tower brace or drill your own hole. Have a nut on the top. This way you can loosen the strap to drive to the track and when you get there crank down on the nut and prload the front end/ pull the strap tight. What you think?

If anyones already doing this let me know and i'll buy the damn thing. If not one of the countless strap makers should make it, then i'll buy it, for a discount.

All of the limiting strap setups that Scott and I have ever made have been adjustable, but through the bottom. Being able to adjust from the top of the shock tower may be a little easier but there's really no need for it, at least in my opinion. We preload them with the car on jack stands, the wheel off, a jack under the LCA, and leave them that way whether you're driving on the street or at the track. It may take away a little travel (compression and rebound) within the suspension but so long as you're not preloaded too much I don't really see any reason why there would be anything wrong with this. That is unless you're driving over massive pot holes or gravel roads all the time but we've never had any problems with this. Sorry, I know I didn't add anything positive in regards to your question but it's just my $0.02. Back to the homework... Blah BUMP

but once u adjust them to the setings u need u dont ever need to touch them why would u want to keep moving them
set them up for the slicks and leave them
so on the street u can lower the car back down after remove the slicks and they wont be touched

I completely agree, just leave them once they've been set!

The only problem I have with limit straps is IF you need to change your axles. But that will happen with any design of limit straps. Just dont break axles I guess.

On the adjustability it would be nice to mess with front end suspension travel to see if the chassis likes a little more travel or less out of the hole. But that takes time anyway.

buck, with your current strap setup, are the straps removeable once you have them adjusted and installed? i see the center bolt that connects the strap bracket to the adjustment "bolt" .. could the lower section of the strap be disconnected when not at the track? or would having the strap still connected to the top the way it is currently setup (to bolt through the tower) be unsafe? or is there a way to make the whole strap removeable and maintain your "settings" ? just wondering
