Default DIY Black Housing Headlight 5th gen

I've been debating whether I should do this to my car for awhile now, and since I finally purchased HID's I think I'm gonna go for it. I know it's going to look great on my car if done right but I'm just scared of condensation or messing up in the process and ruining my headlights. Has anyone ever done this? There's a DIY on superhonda.com here's the link: http://www.superhonda.com/foru...50689

Do you guys think the seals will melt first or the actual headlight? Is it better to stick it oven for a longer time at a cooler temp (200 F) or a shorter time at a higher temp (350 F)?

Any input will be appreciated...

I've taken apart lots of Prelude lights. I normally stick them in the oven at about 325 for about 5min. and pry them apart with a flat head screw driver. Just be careful and keep an eye on them

You have a decent amount of flexibility here. Headlights shouldn't melt unless you leave it in for a ridiculously long time or too high of a temperature. 325 for 5 mins like prelude1987 said should be fine or go lower for a longer period of time (like 275 for 7-10 mins).

As for the condensation, just make sure you seal them back properly. You can use silicone which can get a little messy and is sort of permanent or I recommend rubber butyl which is the same OEM rubber used to seal the headlights. You can buy this through a Nissan dealer or Nissan parts store online.

Maybe it is motorized?

Press a button and the beams move!

That's because it was. The bezel was falling off, but I fixed it and didn't take any new pics.

Has anyone made a headlight with 2 projectors or 1 projector and 1 HID in the headlight? I think it would look meaner.
