Default More Remote Oil Cooler/Filter Questions

OK, if you're paying attention you already know my weekend projects aren't going well...

I have this "universal" adapter from Racer Wholesale that screws into the stock oil filter location and pumps the oil out to remote locations. It just plain doesn't fit. It has a much larger diameter (3/4 inch) than the oil filter and there is a support bracket in the way.

Here's a pic from someone who had a bracket that worked...

I'm talking about the black bracket on the right. It looks like the adapter used here BARELY cleared it.

Who has an adapter on a G3 Integra that just screwed on without having to modify anything? Where the hell did you get it?

Scott, who is going to have a beer and watch some football because his frustration level has officially peaked.

Now if you mean the spin on adapter (not the sandwich adapter)...the one you need (and the one I used) is made by Perma-Cool. Not that universal crap. Part #116. Here is the web page:

Bolts right on w/o any mods. I have it on my G3 Integra.

Well hell.
That looks EXACTLY like the one in my hand. Mine also has 2 1/2 and 3 1/8 inch diameter o-rings as well.

Dammit. Maybe that bracket on my car is just a tad intrusive.

Time to whip out the dremel I guess...

Scott - I believe the one pictured is their universal unit. From looking at your photos I would venture to say that the difference in the one you have and the one you need are not going to be noticable in a picture on the internet.

After f-ing with it for 3 hours, I give up (no... I don't give up easily).
I have a severe hand cramp and have killed 3 dremel grinding stones and it still won't go in there.

I'll order the perma cool unit tomorrow. Hopefully it will install in about 10 seconds.

Funny (and ironic) thing is that I saved this part for last because I figured it'd be the easiest friggin' part of the install. Yeah... right.
The remote filter and Mocal are both installed. I just need a damned adapter that fits.
Oh yeah, I've scarred this one up so bad that I'm sure RW will never take it back.

This one ranks as one of my most unsuccessful race car project weekends ever. 3 projects, 2 days, nothing completed. Dammit.
With VIR in 3 weeks, something has got to give.
